    Yes, but he's actually too old to pitch period. He's going to be 45 in September. Everybody talks about Julio Franco being so old, but Johnson's not much younger. Randy Johnson's really underrated in terms of old-ness :)

    Not very suprising. USC has a history of these things. See Reggie Bush's mom's house, Dwayne Jarrett's rent, etc.

    Lou Piniella's managerial decisions this year show that anyone over 60 should not be hired to a powerful job. And yes, the Chicago Cubs manager position is a powerful job. BTW: Mojo, is the presiDent a Batman reference? Or am I just a nerd :wink:

    D'Antoni is overrated. He succeded in Phoenix because he had a great PG (Nash) and great players surronding him (Amare,etc). Don't get me wrong, I would've prefered Pax got him, it's just that he's not the great savior some are claiming he would have been in Chicago. Plus Avery Johnson is still out there, and he fits the Bulls style more than D'Antoni.

    Anybody remember Devin Ebanks, the Indiana recruit who decommited? Is he still undecided? I hear Memphis, Rutgers, Texas, and WVU are recruting him.

    Johnson is good for a couple things. Mainly getting HBPs.

    Probably Soto and one of the Seans. I think Beane would target Soto, which I wouldn't do. Agree, if Soto's in this deal, we shouldn't do it. But the A's are competing this year and lead their division. I don't think Beane's selling yet.

    Gotta love Macias and Patterson hitting 1-2. Also gotta love how they went 0-8 combined.

    That's not a fact. Its as much as a fact as the Felix Pie would be great given the chance to play full time arguement. More of a speculation. It's much less of a fact than the fact that Pie has been better than Reed Johnson offensively for the last four weeks, and is light-years ahead defensively. Felix has shown potential, e.g. the Mets HR. I don't think sending him down is going to do him any better than staying in the majors.

    Me too. I prefer a Milwaukee win here, even if they end up competing for the division title later and the Cardinals finish 22-140. I prefer short-term happiness :grin:

    Brewers. I know the Cards will not keep this up. So wouldn't you be rooting for the Cardinals then? If they end up sucking later in the year, wouldn't a win here be meaningless for the Cubs by September?

    I don't understand it either. Maybe Lou's logic is that Marmol will shut down the batters, while another pitcher would give up the lead. But still, if Fox gives up a run or two, Marmol can come up then. I don't get it. :?

    Oh dear, how I hate Ned Yost. Unless of course the Brewers get back in the division race. Then I love Ned Yost :D

    Good win, besides the Marmol part. Isn't this something like the 2nd win trailing after the 6th inning. 2nd after the Colorado game. I'm probably missing a couple.
