  1. I knew coming into Spring Training that we were going to get a lot of Mike Olt fluff pieces.... but I still can't help myself, I'm excited for him this year
  2. Somebody convince me on Vogelbach, I'm not sold.
  3. Is a 3 WAR projection for Samardzija actually conservative? Just eyeballing it, he's never topped 3 WAR per either BR or Fangraphs. Over the past two years, he put up 3.0 and 2.8 WAR at Fangraphs and 1.8 and 1.0 WAR at BR. I'm not sure that I buy 3 WAR as a conservative projection.
  4. Zach Lowe is great
  5. marco hernandez /toonster
  6. Falcons seem done for the season. Feel bad for Gonzalez, since he thought he was coming back for another shot in the playoffs. I could certainly see Smith getting fired at the end of the season. I would be pretty surprised to see it happen before then, though. An off-season to focus on the two lines and get healthy could fix a lot of the issues, though.
  7. I ask this without knowing the answer, how many people drafted after the respective cub in their respective year would people take over Baez, Almora, and Bryant?
  8. bring back hccf
  9. I think it's safe to assume Almora will get promoted within the next few weeks to Daytona. Daytona will likely make the playoffs so I definitely expect Almora and Vogelbach to get promoted soon. Possibly Bryant too. Bryant to Kane County or to Daytona?
  10. somebody did an analysis of that gif and they broke down almost everyone in the crowd, it was hilarious. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/21617167/afternoon-delight-weird-saturday-so-far-let-us-count-the-ways-
  11. To end my baseball trip to the US last week, I went to the Indianapolis Indians@ Durham Bulls game on Sunday, and was surprised to find six ex-Cubs system guys on the rosters. Hak-Ju Lee was the only one that didn't play (for obvious reasons) but Guyer, Fontenot and Beliveau (for the Bulls), and Pie and Harrison (for the Indians) did. Of those five, Pie was easily the worst of the bunch, and seemed to be acting like a dick at some point (insisting on wanting some stuff from the dugout in the middle of an at-bat). I know it was father's day, but I have never in my life seen so many small kids at any sports event - it was just great. The Bulls stadium is great
  12. dreaming of a world where all four of them pan out...
  13. Yikes, we've got enough top 50 prospects and/or very productive young major leaguers that could fill every position except 2B and C.
  14. Offensive spacing would be brutal with both Sanders and Withey out there... Sanders doesn't have much of a mid-range game, does he?
  15. 2014 5-Star SG/SF Theo Pinson commits to UNC over IU and others
  16. If I were drawing up the Heat gameplan, I would go at Butler hard early in the game and try to get him into foul trouble. Hopefully that doesn't happen. Well Spoelstra is an awful coach, so hopefully they don't figure anything out. Spoelstra is not an awful coach He's certainly not a great coach. I wouldn't put him on the caliber of somebody like Carlisle, but I'd certainly put him closer to very good than awful.

  18. Obviously Feldman had an awesome start tonight, but his K/BB was 1:1 before tonight.
