  3. Somebody left the grits on the stove too long
  4. Bad news for cubs fans
  5. I think you'll find a lot more Bonds lovers than haters on here because theres a decent chunk of us that actually want the cubs to improve. Bonds is exactly what the Cubs are looking for, middle of the order lefty and hes freely available (ie dont have to give up anything for him). I hate collusion. I still think the risk is much higher than the reward but a 1.000 OPS is a really nice reward. i doubt that he would put that up this season with the case hanging over his head, age starting to catch up to him etc and if people are talking about how bad the defense would be with Dunn, I cannot imagine it with Bonds
  6. No I wouldn't. I know Dunn is phenominal masher, but he's a DH playing the field, much like Carlos Lee. I still value defense over offense, over the course of a season. Plus when you take into account the fact that either Soriano or Dunn would be moved to RF, with Fuku moved to CF, I don't Dunn's offense, makes up for as bad that OF defense would be. Give me Milton Bradley. yes it does I still don't understand the notion that our outfield defense would be terrible And replacing Johnson/Pie's bats with Dunn's bat makes up for it anyways

  8. Time to change the game thread title to The Losers
  9. That would be the worst defensive outfield baseball has ever seen! Fukudome and Soriano would be above average IMO

  11. Let's go CP3 and the Hornets
  12. Banninated. I'm going to kind of miss him come MLB draft time. The dude was a jerk, but he knew his stuff. He was so high up his pedestal you couldn't see him through the clouds Am I the only one who misses Meph? He was a jerk, but he was really a smart baseball fan, and if you could just ignore his arrogance he was a good read. I guess I'm just sad to see us lose the mind that figured out EQA. I kind of miss him too I just feel like the board was more exciting to read when Meph posted here. there were some fun arguments and i got a lot smarter with him. i found his personality funny although i never got on his bad side

  14. I forgot about ignore. I've only done it to wrigley23
  15. Here comes the typical middle game blowout before a close loss tomorrow
  16. Ty Lawson would be an excellent fit for D'antoni IMO. It would be a bit of a reach from the pot you guys are probably going to be picking from. But if you guys could package a group of players for a late first round pick, Lawson would be excellent.
  17. If that's the case and he's actually 17, that's pretty darn cool. I'd have to agree. I am fairly skeptical that nobody in the Cubs organization or any of the writers has realized this, so I would guess that he is 18
