  1. John Baker, yes that John Baker, is talking about Chris Denirdia going to the Cubs on Twitter.
  2. Is it correctly assumed that Allen Craig is broken? Makes 5.5 M this year, and then 9M, and 11M. Definitely a buy low guy, but risk based on injury and last year.
  3. Don't worry boys, Levine has the answer to the OF.... Sam Fuld! http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/12/17/levine-former-maddon-outfielders-seem-like-good-fit-for-cubs/
  4. With incentives for games finished as well.
  5. He has a great foundation to raise awareness for "striking out cancer." I bought the Cubs version of the shirt last year. Lots of injuries. Throws hard. That's about all I got.
  6. Gammons just tweeted something about Baltimore moving towards getting him. The power is intriguing. Always seemed like a guy people expect more of. Doesn't provide much in the OBP department and he is certainly no stranger to the strikeout.
  7. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/11975072/jon-lester-bidding-includes-fourth-team Stark claims a 4th team is in on the bidding for Lester and he speculate that it is the Cardinals.
  8. they literally just won the world series And we have the No. 1 farm system, which is more important than that. Somebody needs to reset that sign across the street on the rooftops in RF.
  9. Not sure how many people have ST in the bleachers. Trying to figure where exactly they would put those people.
  10. Rosenthal is mentioning that SD is getting hits on Grandal, Rivera, and Austin Hedges. Poor John Baker lost his job to Grandal and was pissed he was busted for PEDs. Looks like it could potentially happen again. I'm sure Parks is on the Hedges train.
  11. Read where Crane mentioned today that it is possible that the bleachers will not be finished by Opening Day. That would make for an interesting image for the Sunday Night opener.
  12. Obviously easy to speculate about what this could lead to, but La Stella seems like a guy the Cubs would target. Cost controlled LH bat who has shown an ability in the minor leagues to get on base. As was points out earlier, the slots were kind of useless to the Cubs for this signing period. They probably feel comfortable dealing Vizcaino because of the bullpen depth. He is always going to have health concerns to go along with command issues. This may turn into something bigger, but they were probably comfortable simply acquiring a player who they think can provide some value in return for a guy who still doesn't have a clear claim to a bullpen spot.
  13. Joe Maddon to Bloomington
  14. October 25th at 5 PM for me
  15. Anything to have Baez not end up with a slash line like Kevin Roberson is a plus. Yep. Have to get him on the path to Derrick May like numbers next year.
  16. Am I the only one who has noticed that the dimensions for CF on the Wrigley "Big Time Bats" commercial says 440 feet?
  17. Damn, looks like I was too late for the Travis Wood should be hitting posts.
  18. Schwarber will at least be familiar with the opposing pitcher tonight. He caught Aaron Slegers for two years at Indiana.
  19. Just listened to an interview with Schwarber on an Indianapolis station. The Cubs told him he would start in Boise.
  20. Go to the 3:12 mark. This was against Louisville this year and cleared the batters eye in CF. Predictions had it around 450 feet. I was at this game and it was impressive to say the last. Hit off of a lefty as well. Enjoy.
  21. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=R3hu1bMf3yA. (40 seconds in)
  22. How does Harold Reynolds have a job? The Cubs should have taken Alex Jackson as a high school bat because he played with Ken Griffey Jr who had not trouble hitting and moving to the majors fast...
  23. Tracy Smith, Schwarber's head coach at IU is a former minor leaguer and scout for the Cubs.
