  1. Kinnick + Michigan = talent levels don't matter We keep making mistakes but are still in this (would be tied if it weren't for that drop.) I did think Iowa would play with energy but thought Michigan was too good for us to keep it close. Now it's feeling a little like when Iowa upset Penn State in 2008. Still think Michigan pulls away.
  2. I wish Iowa played Michigan back when the Cubs were still playing so I wouldn't have to watch whatever is going to happen here.
  3. Have the Bulls even come close to beating the Hawks since Budenholzer has been their coach? Seems like we lose every time we play them and it's never close.
  4. they looked good and you're feeling a 6 or 7 seed? does not compute. 4-3 and didn't look so good in losses. They seem inconsistent, their style feels inconsistent yet they are better than last year so that's where I feel right now. I think we are worse than Boston, Cleveland and Toronto right now and unsure about Charlotte and indiana.
  5. Okay, they looked good tonight. I'm feeling, I don't know, a 6 or 7 seed right now. That will probably change a bunch this year though.
  6. That week we looked awesome but no one cared because the cubs were doing their thing was cool.
  7. I think they said Ross will be on Ellen in LA tomorrow. He's getting all over.
  8. I think he shaves it in the off season. He did last year too.
  9. Don't shortchange them. It's 5 years. They lost the 2013 series to Boston. There are 5 year olds who have never seen the Cardinals win anything and it's beautiful.
  10. There won't be any sports with anywhere the intensity or meaning that these cubs game had for awhile and when the games are like that again my teams won't be involved so I won't care for sports until next baseball season.
  11. yeah, I don't give any horsefeathers about football this season. maybe the college basketball season will entertain me because horsefeathers the nba I like the NBA. College basketball season will be interesting but I doubt Iowa is any good and I forgot who Iowa even played today. I don't care about sports right now and won't for awhile so that's cool.
  12. It's a fair complaint but the timing of it and the fact that he said it in public is weird. The guy was likable as hell, even when he struggled and now he's less likable to me because he complained on a radio show the day of the World Series championship celebration. Just an odd thing to do. I think it's important to keep in mind that Miggy was likely really, really drunk during that interview. He's been a model teammate as a Cub, particularly when Contreras came up and basically took his job. This doesn't impact my overall feelings on Montero one bit. That's fair. I just read the article and didn't hear the interview.

  14. ? http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/17973532/chicago-cubs-catcher-miguel-montero-critical-manager-joe-maddon-role-team-postseason I thought he's been kinda tongue in cheek making fun of himself sucking for a bit. Seems to be an odd time to criticize a manager.
  15. I keep trying to think about off-season plans and Jay Cutler don't caaaaare forces itself into my mind and World Series highlights start playing Seriously, I'll be excited to watch these guys next year but the best part of winning it is not having to stress about the day-to-day. I didn't stress much this yeat side from the rough patch pre all star break and the playoffs of course. This year just always felt different.
  16. I have been in this happy mood for two days. I have really bad social anxiety that causes me to avoid people but for two days now it's been gone. Weird how a game can do that.
  17. I don't think I've really seen this said and it's such a simple thing but how cool is it that the final out was bryant to rizzo.
  18. i find the relief delightful I don't miss playoff/world series baseball. That horsefeathers was stressful. But I do miss the idea of just having a game to watch. I wonder how the regular season will feel. There is going to be a different feel and dynamic when it comes to this ball club now and it's going to be odd. I look forward to it.
  19. http://www.si.com/mlb/2016/11/03/world-series-cubs-indians-game-7 https://theathletic.com/24756/2016/11/03/jason-heyward-spoke-and-the-cubs-responded-to-make-history/ Not footage, but a little insight into how it went. Good stuff, That meeting is going to go down in Cubs lore for sure.
  20. Probably nothing profound was said but I would love to see the weight room ,rain delay meeting. I bet it was like a scene from a cheesy sports movie and that's awesome.
  21. The notion that cub fans like losing was always a weird one
  22. From Grant Brisbee's article: http://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2016/11/3/13506800/cubs-world-series-champions-results They basically said "horsefeathers all that horsefeathers. We're winning. We're different." All those little things that have bit us in the ass in the past, well, they're not enough to bring down these guys. Throw as many obstacles at us as you want, it won't matter. It's like every demon tried to come out and keep the curse alive and the flipped them the bird and said "no"
  23. I liked his pennant winning call. this one was kinda anticlimatic.
