    Wood is the one player I have real difficulty separating emotional attachment from a cold business-like approach. I would be extremely sad to see him go, and, to me, think it's worth overpaying to keep him (I know that's not sound baseball business sense, but it's Wood). My two dream scenario's are Wood throwing the final strike for the WS win and Ron Santo still being alive to see it.

    Flippped away from the anthem but the introductions reminded me of a monster truck race or something. I guess kind of fitting in that hinky dome. I dont mind the Rays being there but I hate to see the World Series played on that field. I am a firm believer that football or baseball should be played outside. Hell, in a perfect world they would play all NHL games on a pond.

    This has a high probability of being wrong but I am convinced Iowa is going to win 20 games this year. That'd be nice if that was enough to get them to the tournament but it probably won't.

    I would fear that going to all 81 games would ruin the fun of going to a game. Having season tickets for the last 3 years for Iowa football and basketball has sucked the excitement out of going, granted it doesn't help that they aren't that great at either one but still.

    This will probably sound stupid but would it be possible that Bob Brenly would be a better manager than before because of the time he worked with Len? Actually, I have to ask, Len does know a bit about the modern view of baseball (sabermetrics, moneyball and stuff)? I thought he did know a bit. If he does, could he have rubbed off of Brenly a bit and would he make Brenly a better manager? Hope that makes sense and I don't sound as stupid as I potentially could here.

    I know this is baseball, but I don't see how the Phillies win this series, the Rays line up should crush the Phillies pitching. However, I think the Phillies win tonight.

    It won't count but I have no problem with former Hawk, Dallas Clark, getting a TD.

    While I am not a fan of Favre as a person, the Falcons feature Jeff George and Michael Vick. That's a pretty good tandom of D-bags. Oh and Aaron Rouse says Ballgame!!!!

    i hadnt heard that before. wow, i thought i couldn't dislike him more. I'll step back and say if true he is a bitter bastard. However I am still upset at the way he left.

    I think so. Doesn't it remind you guys of someone? Yeah because Brett cried alot during the game. Manning is just flat out annoying. Favre is way more annoying As a Packers fan I kindly say +1. I just heard he gave the Lions information on how to beat the Packers (it still didn't help) bitter bastard.

    I miss the old half-circle crease. Not because of anything having to do with hockey but because it reminded me of NHL 98 and that game was awesome. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

    Khababulin (or however you spell his name) has been playing pretty good. It would be an interesting change of pace if they could score more than two goals this game though.

    They won't lose to Indiana. The only reason I can see them losing to Iowa is because of Iowa's D and it is at Kinnick. Is the Michigan St. game in East Lansing or happy valley? I don't see how anyone in the Big Ten is going to beat Penn State and I've thought since they blew out Oregon State (I know a weird game to choose as a marker for deciding the best team in the country) that they were going to the MNC game.

    The only time I remember this game being of equal importance for both teams is when they both played for a share of the Big Ten title in 04.
