    I don't think both Minnesota and Michigan make it. I think it will be one or the other (one of them will make it)

    I think the Hawks have a good chance of at least getting to the finals. I think they are the third best team in the conference and they can beat the Sharks. The Wings would be tough though as they have a bit of a mental edge over the Hawks, but if the goal tending comes to play the Hawks may just have a really good shot at the cup.

    I didn't realize the Panthers were decent and in the playoffs if they started today. I remember rooting for them and John Vanbiesbrouck (and the rats) the year they went to the finals. Anyways, I'm excited for this game(as I have been for most of the year). It should be tough if Florida has been playing well but it seems the Hawks play better against decent teams then they do against crappy teams.

    Well, this is a good win to get in the battle to lose to Boston or Cleveland in the first round.

    Considering the way Iowa played at Penn State that game is not a gimme at all. Penn State was very lucky to win that one. I personally think that will be Iowa's only win the rest of the season.

    This is a little late but I am sad to see Nocioni go. And if the rumors are true I will be sad to see Hinrich go (I love seeing the Iowa boy wearing the Bulls jersey.). They were a big part of the Bulls return to the playoffs and that team was one of my favorite teams that I've watched in my sports fan life. I understand that it needs to be done though and it is for the future (and Noc and Hinrich aren't that great) but the Nocioni trade and the potential Hinrich trade has some sentamental value to me. Sorry for the emo sports moment. I just had to throw that out there.

    I know the experts are going to use games like this Penn State/Illinois game as an example of why the Big Ten won't do anything in the tournament. But you know the Big Ten's defensive schemes are going to throw off and annoy other conference teams. The Big Ten teams should also score some points against other teams. That being said, I was shocked when I saw this final score.

    I'm not meaning to criticize Huet. He got the win. I'm just trying to understand the finer points of the game.

    I don't know enough to criticize but it seems to me like Huet went down to his knees really early in the shot on the third goal. Seems like it would be easy to roof it over his head that way. Am I wrong on this? And if I am is this something he normally does?

    With an empty net wouldn't it have been an automatic goal or has that rule changed? Or did it ever exist?

    The Hawks have played great tonight. Even when it was 3-1 I was confidant. Once the Hawks got that late 2nd period goal I had a good feeling they were going to win.

    Yeah, team should win the World Series based off of facial hair. Reed needs to bring back that beard from the convention, Gaudin should keep that, whatever that is and Z should bring back his 'stach. Sign Todd Walker and Eric Karros back and this is the best team ever.

    If the Cubs under achieve this year a Lou vs Bradley shouting match could provide some entertainment.

    he'd probably play. i think jeter is going to play against the new york yankees when team america faces them. F*** YEAH! The chance of Fukudome getting hurt by a pitch is the same no matter what team he plays. Also, there is a lot of hype about Jeter facing the Yankees, so I don't see why this situation would be any different. I'm not really outraged by it (like my post might suggest). I honestly don't care if he played or not. I was just curious about if it could be done (I hadn't heard about Jeter playing the Yankees). I know the chances of him getting hit are the same no matter who he is playing, I just thought it would suck for the pitcher to break your teamates hand in a competitive game.
