Do teams ever blow out "cup cakes" when they play them during the conference season. Those games never seem to go well for the favorites.

It's really annoying. I'm not going to complain about refs in a game vs Arkansas State but it's almost like the refs decided that Arkansas State needs the help today.

I love seeing Iowa at number 5 in any kind of rankings.

I don't think Ohio State is vastly better than Iowa. That game's a toss up , and I don't think I'll ever see them winning at OSU. I could see them dropping MSU or Wisconsin (probably Wisconsin) but I'm expecting, at worst, a 10 win season right now. Agreed. I doubt they win at the 'Shoe, and back-to-back roadies against Bucky and Sparty figures to be a difficult task (though, individually, Iowa is superior to both). Iowa is vastly superior to MSU. Road game or not, it'd be a stretch to have them losing that game. Wisconsin will be tough, but still. If the better team wins every game, Iowa should be 11-1. Doesn't mean they will. But they could be. There's no basis to say they'll definitely lose 2 or 3 this year.

Bah, let them continue their streak of suckage. Detroit still has the Red Wings, Pistons and Tigers. I don't feel sorry for them because of the Lions.

With this Rams team? I wouldn't even be concerned at this point. That's what I was going to say. Yeah, it's not good but we can still beat the Rams with this effort (although I still don't trust the defense). Do this against real teams and you're screwed.

If you have a 4 oclock game this week on Fox, Fox isn't allowed to show anything in the 1 slot. I'm sure they would love to show football if they possibly could because it would get much better ratings, but there is no choice on their part. The way the NFL does that confuses me. CBS had the double header last week so I figured Fox would have it this way. Obviously I'm wrong. I don't understand why they don't allow 4 televised games in the afternoon. The NFL would make a lot of many either way. Why would they care?

The odds of them losing any of their first 3 games weren't very high. We just have to take care of business vs them next week (hopefully after a win today) and tie them at 3-1.

I heard the other computer rankings have us fairly high too. I would love to see where we are in the BCS in a couple of weeks if we get there undefeated.

Iowa dropped out after a close game against UNI. UNI is better than Indiana (or at least they are even) and Arizona is better than Notre Dame. If Michigan didn't have the name and didn't beat a team with a name, they might not even be ranked right now to begin with.

I actually like Stanzi. And I actually think he played his best game as a Hawkeye last night. If our receivers don't drop any passes we win by a lot, and his numbers would look really good. I also get a little emotional during games and if I'm on a message board, or watching with fans of other teams I kind of gelt self depricating of my own to not rub other teams fans the wrong way. That being said, I get a little hard on Stanzi because I know the talent is there and if he fine tunes his game Iowa may just have a shot at the title game (I can't believe I even consider this a possiblity, although it's really early still). He made some strides last night though.

I thought losing to UNI was pretty special uni would be 11 point favorites against penn state. lol. In all seriousness though that was a fun game to watch. I think we both have good D's (althoug that could have been a product of bad offense). I still think Penn State finishes in the top 3 of the conference (although the conference may not be that great so who knows if that means much).
