Wazzu leading any Pac-10 team is unexpected. Them leading the number 3 team in the country is shocking. If Oregon is down at halftime they should drop in the rankings. And Oregon scores on a 84 yard TD pass.

I have to say that I like seeing the Braves in the playoffs again. It reminds me of watching playoff baseball as a kid.

Why? It's kind of weird for a former Cub to be playing in the playoffs and he actually has considerable postseason experience. This is his 5th playoffs and 6th playoff series. Because he's not on the Cubs during a playoff game.

From watching them vs the White Sox (small sample size) Gardenhire seems to enjoy doing this.

I don't mind seeing the Reds do well because they are a franchise who hasn't done well lately and I like to see historical franchises do well for the most part. I won't be actively rooting for them though because of Dusty though.

Do players who get traded in the mid-season have success with their new teams traditionally? It seems like there would be a few factors that a new player would have to overcome. For one, doesn't a player pretty much have to learn a new offense on the fly?

I thought the Cubs pretty much tanked in early June of that year. I know it was right around the time of my HS graduation that they went to Cleveland and completely crapped the bed and I think it was all downhill from there. I haven't checked, but that's how I remember it. I haven't found much about it but that was the year we signed Marmol apparently. -
