  1. You missed my point completely. The Blackhawks are finished. If DRose doesn't take the Bulls deep into the playoffs, this summer will be filled with nothing more than a ton of Cubs losses. The Hawks nearly came back from a 3-0 deficit last year against a better team. I'm not giving up yet, especially when every game has gone to OT.
  2. With all the chances they had last night, makes me wonder what would have happened if they had Hossa in there.... I liked what I saw from Saad though.
  3. Miami blew them out badly the first two times, the 3rd one the Pacers had it won and then let it slip away in OT (James hit a 3 to force OT and then Wade hit a game winner with 0.1 left in OT). The 4th time was a blowout the Pacers way. The Pacers do have some matchups that can bother the Heat (they're one of the only teams in the NBA with enough good defenders at the wing positions to guard James/Wade, and their size inside could bother Miami) but they have to make shots. They've been doing that in the second half of the season (averaged 101.8 points over their last 19 games) while they were really struggling offensively to begin the year when they played the Heat the first 2 times. As for the being physical point, Indiana's probably more physical than they were last year. It's a calling card of theirs. They talk about being smashmouth all the time, and they're among the league leaders in both free throws attempted and among the worst in giving up free throws. I'm not sure how much that will be a factor in tiring out Miami though. LeBron is so strong it almost doesn't matter, and it's not Bosh's game to be physical like that. So they would probably only tire out Wade. If only Bosh and LeBron were on their games against a Bulls team that is healthy, I'd take that. We're not going to get a healthy Bulls team but still.
  4. I'm picking Orlando vs Indiana anyways (if they play). EDIT: I'm seeing that Howard won't play for Van Gundy anymore and they are preparing for him to miss the rest of the season and playoffs, so maybe not.
  5. From last year, Indiana isn't afraid to be physical. I would think they could wear down Miami a bit.
  6. Yep he wasn't a scholarship player. Decent walk on lol. Yes, but all this Recker talk is reminding me of Iowa's 01-02 team which fills me with rage.
  7. Yes, he could do that with Iowa as well. Actually, isn't that what Recker did at Iowa? Or did he transfer to ASU then wound up at Iowa paying his own way? I know there was something screwy with his transfer. Went to Arizona, then because of his car wreck was allowed to leave and go to Iowa with no penalty. Yep. And I may be wrong, but I don't think he was on scholarship at Iowa. I think he was paying in-state tuition (IIRC his dad lived in Cedar Rapids at the time, or maybe mom) I'm finding a bunch of articles on google that says that Recker paid his own way. I had no idea this happened.
  8. That schedule is brutal. Let's sweep the Reds though.
  9. It's dumb to even talk about it being a "little late". That isn't even the major issue with the hit, though it was late obviously, it's that he left his feet and targeted the head. Their coach is just blindly defending his player but, Jesus, he clearly didn't hit him in the chest.
  10. I would guess that it has everything to do with the opponent. The Senators are not a high profile team, the casual fan doesnt know much about them or any players on the team. And New York is expected to romp them so its not getting the attention it normally would if it was a tougher opponent. Oh and they are Canadian and they are not one of the sexy Canadian teams (like the Habs, Leafs, Canucks), so that immediately turns off some American fans. I would expect to see the attention to ramp up for them next round. The series itself is quietly interesting. Some of the time, NYR clearly looks like the much more dominant team, but at other times, for whatever reason they struggle. I don't know if its NY taking them lightly or what, but if they lose this game (about to go into OT), it could get interesting. I'm pulling for Ottawa myself, their coach used to coach my area's minor league team and he has a cool mustache.
  11. I feel like this Rangers vs Senators series has been pretty low profile for a series featuring New York's number one hockey team who is pretty good.
  12. Playing Charlotte is a waste of time.
  13. You don't want to wish away a half-decade of your life like that. Fine, can I at least fast forward to when Rizzo and Jackson are here? And to when Vogelbach and Baez are playing for a minor league team that I can follow?
  14. I think I'm ready to fast forward to when we're good again.
  15. Why does Reed Johnson have a 3-0 green light? This team likes to annoy me.
  16. Me too. No in game punishment (aka 5:00 powerplay that we should have gotten) and even with a suspension, losing Hossa hurts the Hawks more than losing Torres hurts them. They took out the Hawks best scorer and there is a good chance it wins them the series. It sucks.
  17. you'd have to go back to the 90's I think as they havent had any the last 4 years and I don't think they did when they played the Blues in 2001 1996 vs Colorado from what I've seen.
  18. When's our last OT home loss in the playoffs?
  19. I hate living in the eastern time zone.
  20. Frolik deserved that with the way he's played tonight.
  21. does that announcer lose his job? depends on how hurt hossa is He's like a bad guy wrestling announcer.
