    I really try not to be pessimistic about sports anymore but I'm having a hard time not feeling like we'll get shut out.

    Pretty much the way the first couple of periods went the last two games yet it never feels like they are out playing them. Just seems like they are waiting for the Hawks to [expletive] up, which they do because they aren't that great of a team.

    i dunno, code of honor and players not wanting to forfeit a lot of salary. i mean, this is a pretty harsh penalty. most guys who have gotten 20+ games have done things like swinging a stick into another player's head. this is more of a "hockey play" than trying to decapitate someone with your stick. too bad it got to this point though. the montage in the suspension video makes it obvious that torres just doesn't get it (about checking late and targeting the head). if this suspension doesn't get the message across, then he probably needs to be suspended for at least a year if not banned outright. I have a feeling that if this happens again that may be the result. Wouldn't be surprised if he was told that in his hearing.

    Also, the Mavs don't seem to care at all so far, which is nice as we are trying to shake rust off of Rose and what not. EDIT: They are playing either Oklahoma City or the Lakers in the first round so there isn't much for them to play for as either team would be tough.

    9 runs down to 5 runs up. I don't think I've seen a game like this before.

    I am enjoying watching the Red Sox blow this game.

    If the batter runs instead of argues he may have beaten the throw which would have been an interesting way to have a perfect game ended.

    I can't really consider the Sox rivals. I hated them in high school but I'm kind of over it.

    3 more regular season games? I know we're playing for a number 1 seed still but it almost feels like preseason to me at this point.

    We're already 7 games out of first after only about two weeks. Cool.

    He had 150 PA's in 2008 so I don't know if that makes that his rookie season technically. Sam Jethroe won the award when he was 32 though.

    So far, so good. 16th trip on the DL. Good example for the younger players. Sure hope this doesn't affect his bowling night. Never throw a baseball because the unnatural arm motion creates higher risk for arm injuries? Seems like a weird thing to teach a baseball player.

    This is usually what stage 1 of a rebuild looks like. Yeah, it's not fun to watch or even follow via gameday but if this is still happening in 2014 than we can complain about the rebuild strategy. I just hope sitting through whatever this is is worth it in a few years. This type of baseball, followed by more bad baseball would be tough to swallow.

    Why did the Cubs decide to go for an all out rebuild again? This really isn't fun at all.
