  1. Well the Red Sox are surely set now with all this firepower.
  2. Also Skubal won his arb hearing and will make $32 million this year.
  3. Not a huge deal but interesting trade going down: Strowd was a decent reliever last year and the other guys are interesting lottery tickets. Alexander is out of options and obviously behind Henderson and Holliday and Westberg on the depth chart.
  4. I just stumbled upon us signing Vince Velasquez as more Iowa SP depth,
  5. I feel like I'm missing something. Andujar never was going to be a Shaw replacement. As a bat, maybe. But he can't play the infield. He would have basically been competition for Tyler Austin.
  6. I did not see him going to Detroit. Wow. Wonder if the Orioles get desperate and offer Gallen a bunch of money.
  7. I still like Alcantara a lot but it seems we've seen "fatigue" with him in terms of rankings. He's up there, he hasn't gotten a real shot in the majors, other guys in the system have passed him and there's the chance he tops out as a 4th OFer. I don't know why, maybe it's the same thing because they've been in the system awhile, but I keep feeling like Ramirez and Rojas will never play for us. Like they'll bust or be used in a trade. I have nothing to base this on.
  8. He was at a golf event in Arizona talking about how much he loves it there and his wife is from there. Could be nothing but maybe he's holding out hope the Dbacks come back with some kind of offer. Or just the usual athlete speak.
  9. Now we definitely don't need Shaw
  10. Also accused of domestic abuse. Hard pass. We have better depth options anyway.
  11. A low end top 100 prospect and two interesting OF prospects. And the comp picks. Maybe a little underwhelming but not a terrible return. An interesting wrinkle was the Mariners intending on Williamson being their 3B this year and used him in the deal. Also I liked Peete and Cijntje so I'm a little annoyed they went to STL. Feels like now Cijntje will pan out and Peete will be a pesky player against us for a few years.
  12. With Adames at SS and Chapman at 3B. Talk about a full spectrum of defensive competence in one infield.
  13. Nico nor Shaw going to SF now. Arraez will be their 2B.
  14. Another old pal is joining Wisdom on the Mariners AAA squad: Michael Rucker. Was out of baseball last year but has been throwing a lot recently. I only know this because he is a card collector and he and I chatted on Instagram awhile back and he sent me some signed cards.
  15. Yeah I wasn't sure Hays was an option recently. And now with McCormick and Carlson lined up against Alcantara for the bench I don't think it was going to be likely we give real money to another outfielder, barring an attempt to add a big bat at DH/RF and Hays does not fit that bill.
  16. David Robertson retired. Always liked him, even before the Cubs got him. And we still have Ben Brown to remember him by.
  17. Yeah I don't see him fitting in now. He'll get a 2 year deal probably somewhere once Gallen and Framber are off the board.
  18. I had kinda hoped they'd bring him back. What a waste of a move last year. He was hurt and bad and we gave up a good prospect for him. Should've given it another chance.
  19. If he does well definitely him. Maybe Wiggins if he retains eligibility.
  20. lol we should come up with some kind of HOF for these exiled posters. We've had some all timers over the last 2 decades.
  21. Yankees DFAd Marco Luciano, who they got recently from the Giants. Former top prospect and still 24. If he has options remaining, would be a nice get.
  22. It has felt for a bit that we're waiting for Gallen to fall into our laps.
  23. Yeah I want Alcantara to win the 4th OF spot but Carlson and McCormick are great buy low options as a fallback.
