  1. Ducks win, take series. Woot!
  2. Do it. Peavy is good, and it's good to go with the buy low/ sell high strategy in regards to Lee and Jones.
  3. Me too. The plan was to do only rounds 1-3. last week many people expressed interest in going further. But since we're only getting 1 pick a day now, that's going to be impossible. Oh my good God, I too am retiring if it goes any further. At this rate, we wouldn't even get round 4 done before the actual draft, so I doubt it will continue after the 3rd round.
  4. as will the 14 devils fans around the tri-state area! They don't get much attendance, but there are lots of fans. People just don't like driving to the meadowlands, except for 8 Sundays a year. I can't believe their solution to this was building an arena in Newark. There are three NY teams that play multiple games a week and aren't located by any convenient form of mass transportation, and all three struggle drawing crowds. Agreed. I love the Devils, but I just don't get to many games. Newark was not a good idea, though the artist renderings of the new stadium look pretty awesome.
  5. Agreed. Quite frankly, I think Drew is better than Peralta.
  6. Dare I say, Mark Redman bizarre? Probably not
  7. Devils win! Woot!
  8. I'd rather keep Cedeno than acquire Aybar, as I don't see a lot of difference between the two. Blanton would be nice, but I don't think our OBP-depleted lineup can afford to lose Murton. If minor league numbers mean anything, Aybar will be the superior offensive player. Cedeno: .265/.316/.376/.692 (1924 AB) Aybar: .311/.356/.454/.810 (2216 AB) Aybar got help from the Texas League, California League and the mountain PCL division. Arkansas is +40% HRs relative to the TL. Salt Lake is about +15% HRs relative to the PCL. Rancho is about league average for the Cali which is a heckuva lot higher than the FSL average. Aybar's entire minor league career was at the highest offensive league in the level, and most of the time in one of the highest parks in that league. His minor league numbers have been heavily aided at every stop. Cedeno's are at the opposite end most of the time. Aybar's PECOTA .263/.306/.382 Ronny's PECOTA .265/.302/.388 Pretty damn close. What is it that people like about Aybar then? Not trying to start anything, I'm just curious. Aybar hit very well in the minors year in and year out. Ronny really only became a prospect 2 years ago. Edit: Their career minor league lines: Aybar- .311/.356/.454/.810 Cedeno- .265/.316/.376/.692 No offense, but your post showed you did not read what you quoted at all. :D Am I missing something? :? A) You edited to add career minor league lines, when they were already in the initial post B)Meph explained Aybar's league and park effects. In response to the question of why people like Aybar, I agree with Meph, people love his tools, especially his defense. As well as the fact that most people don't take into consideration league/park effects. D'oh. I feel dumb

  10. Gotta go with Badger

  12. -Happy to be in the majors -Doesn't mind playing multiple positions -Likes Pinniella's intenisty and respects him -thought they should have won a few more games -said Lansing was favorite minor league city -talked about Pie, during a rainout, pretending to swim in a cooler Missed some if it, but those seem like the highlights of what I saw
  13. I don't know if I'd do any of those trades. Maybe I'd go for Aybar, but we don't need anymore middle relievers, and as much as I still love Jon Lieber, he's well past his prime. Also, I do not wanna trade Murton, period.
  14. You just beat me to it, but I'll post Rotoworld's take: This is just terrible. The Phillies are dumb.
  15. ](*,) It's one thing to be agressive, and another to be stupid.
  16. yeah, that's a lineup built around toughness. pretty surprised that they're dressing george parros AND brad may AND travis moen. that's odd for the playoffs. i like that lemaire isn't backing down and is dressing boogie man though. Yeah, we got some heavy hitters and big fighters. I guess Carlyle wants to play very physical hockey through these playoffs and it's showing. What May did was not being physical it was pure thuggery. What he did is pure cowardly. It's funny how they never tried there cheap shots while the Boogey man was on the ice.. I didn't actually see it. What did he do?

  18. If by worst you mean BEST! :P No, it's bad. I actually like a lot of hair metal. A couple years back I burned a 2 vol. hair metal compilation that I listened to quite a lot but Cherry Pie just grated and I kept skipping past it. It was the only song that annoyed me enough to consistently skip it. Even as kitsch it's hard to stomach. I don't know.. I still find it to be entertaining every now and then. I wouldn't ever listen to it daily, it's like Nirvana. If it comes on on the radio, I'll listen to it, but if it's on my playlist, I'm gonna skip over it. Comparing Nirvana to the likes of Warrant? Harsh. Yeah, definitely not a big fan of Nirvana. I have some of their stuff, but I can really only listen to them when they come on the radio. Nirvana>>>>>>>>>>Warrant
  19. Ronny = AAAA player at its finest
  20. He's too fragile. The Cubs have enough pitchers with injury histories. Agreed
