  1. I still remember him being terrible so I guess I wasn't paying attention the last 3 years. Not a bad gamble for next year.
  2. Ok yeah thing is if it's not Gallen then no other SP on the market is better than what we have. And between Alcantara, Carlson, McCormick I'm feeling ok about 4th OF. Now if they got a RF/DH type big bat that's another story but I don't know who fits that bill.
  3. He's cooked. He hit well here but that's awhile ago now. There's a good chance Mo puts up a higher OPS and WAR this year.
  4. Well that takes the Orioles out of the Gallen sweepstakes.
  5. More Iowa depth. He hasn't pitched in the majors since 2023 because of injuries.
  6. It's not a dig, for years we've gotten blurry photos of the backfields or just players working out at ST. Feels like tradition. Thanks for sharing!
  7. Verlander back to the Tigers. Easily the best rotation in baseball? Casey Mize is now their 5th starter.
  8. More depth: Miller played for the Brewers for a couple years. Has a lot of experience at 2B and 3B but is not great.
  9. Well the Red Sox are surely set now with all this firepower.
  10. Also Skubal won his arb hearing and will make $32 million this year.
  11. Not a huge deal but interesting trade going down: Strowd was a decent reliever last year and the other guys are interesting lottery tickets. Alexander is out of options and obviously behind Henderson and Holliday and Westberg on the depth chart.
  12. I just stumbled upon us signing Vince Velasquez as more Iowa SP depth,
  13. I feel like I'm missing something. Andujar never was going to be a Shaw replacement. As a bat, maybe. But he can't play the infield. He would have basically been competition for Tyler Austin.
  14. I did not see him going to Detroit. Wow. Wonder if the Orioles get desperate and offer Gallen a bunch of money.
  15. I still like Alcantara a lot but it seems we've seen "fatigue" with him in terms of rankings. He's up there, he hasn't gotten a real shot in the majors, other guys in the system have passed him and there's the chance he tops out as a 4th OFer. I don't know why, maybe it's the same thing because they've been in the system awhile, but I keep feeling like Ramirez and Rojas will never play for us. Like they'll bust or be used in a trade. I have nothing to base this on.
  16. He was at a golf event in Arizona talking about how much he loves it there and his wife is from there. Could be nothing but maybe he's holding out hope the Dbacks come back with some kind of offer. Or just the usual athlete speak.
  17. Now we definitely don't need Shaw
  18. Also accused of domestic abuse. Hard pass. We have better depth options anyway.
  19. A low end top 100 prospect and two interesting OF prospects. And the comp picks. Maybe a little underwhelming but not a terrible return. An interesting wrinkle was the Mariners intending on Williamson being their 3B this year and used him in the deal. Also I liked Peete and Cijntje so I'm a little annoyed they went to STL. Feels like now Cijntje will pan out and Peete will be a pesky player against us for a few years.
