  1. I'll LOL really hard if/when we make the playoffs... our outfield has to be the worst defensively and offensively out of any other team in the playoffs.
  2. Good... but uh oh, he's coming back.
  3. Ok so that answers some questions... looks like the guy who got hit in the head maybe got hit by the bat when he was raising it up... hope he's ok but I'd still like to see a vid.
  4. Yes I was mistaken... 4 year deal, silly me.
  5. In the picture I saw he carried the bat to the mound with him. I remember Barry Bonds doing this a few years back when someone threw behind him, isn't it his teammates and the umpires job to try to get the bat away from him?
  6. Oh come on, the guy snapped I am pretty sure we'd all like to see a video. And it doesn't seem like anyone was seriously hurt. And with a bat it's definitely assault, if he INTENTIONALLY hit the guy in the head then he's gonna be in some deep doo-doo. The article doesn't exactly elaborate on how they were hit or how hard they were hit. We don't know if this guy went in swinging the bat or if he had the bat in his hand and it accidentally hit the guys in the heat of the moment, gonna need a video to determine that.
  7. Who bets Lilly ends the season with more wins than Zambrano? I am glad we got this guy for 2 more years.
  8. I'm guilty of finding that funny as well.
  9. I was with everyone last night saying this team is terrible (which isn't far from the truth). But people, look at the bright side. 1) Homeruns: We hit 3, all solo shots... but a homerun is a homerun. Maybe this will light a spark under the rest of the team. 2) Resiliency: They showed shades of the Cubs last month not laying over and dying even after being down 4. We need the fighting/winning spirit back like nobody's business and last night was a good example of that. 3) Bullpen: Bullpen kept it close for us, Marmol escaped a very nasty jam. We need our relievers to keep it close. We are still only 1 1/2 games out, THIS is the time to get hot... before the Cardinals series and before the Brewers series. Don't lose faith until the elimination number reaches 0.
  10. Is that before or after they put in a reliever with 1.13 ERA? Because certainly we can't hit someone who has a 7.71 ERA.
  11. Ugh weren't you guys arguing this in the gamethread chat yesterday... hahahah.
  12. Hahhaahhaha this is awesome, now to search for Youtube video.
  13. Doesn't matter who catches your ace.
  14. So lets just sweep the Cardinals :)
  15. I woke up this morning in a deep depression.
  16. Another 6am morning disappointment for me. I can't wait to get to Chicago so I can at least go out after getting my nuts kicked.
  17. "Play for a tie at home, a win on the road" The tying run was in scoring position.
  18. Nice call putting Cedeno in the 8th in a 1 run ball game.
  19. Wouldn't it be magical? Don't forget, we're the Cubs!
  20. LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  21. ECKSTEIN! Sac Fly... Inning over 8-3 cards
  22. Parra walks em full again, 1 out.
