    Looked up Conklin' and Osgood SV% - didn't realize how shaky they are. However at the moment the Red Wings are the better team and I still expect them to win the division. Within a couple of years the Wings will be looking up at the Blackhawks. My mother-in-law who's a Johnny-Come-Lately hockey fan (last decade with the Red Wings success) has brutal reality coming to her in the near future. I've mentioned to her the Blackhawks are amongst the youngest teams in the league and their arrow is pointing up. Not only is this so but, they have not only youth on their side, it's youth with extraordinary talent - Toews, Kane, etc. She just blows me off because her Red Wings have been so dominant. BUT its only a matter of time until Kane ends up in Buffalo :(

    Avery will get picked up by someone. He did just fine and succeeded greatly while playing for the Rangers. He needs a veteran to keep him in line like Jaromir Jagr did for him during his stint with the Rangers. He's taking his agitator role off the ice which is why the Stars dropped him. I think the suspension was crappy, but you can't be taking personal beef off the ice then settling it that night on the ice (Stars were going to be playing the Flames when he said it).

    To be fair, if this team catches fire and can beat Detroit a couple times... we have the easier schedule. We COULD still win this division, Detroit's goalies are really REALLY bad.

    I think they'll beat the Oiliers and completely demolish the Flames... gonna have some trouble with the Canucks this time around, though.

    3rd place alone if we win this one. Which is technically 4th, no? For seeding sake, I mean. It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that we get the fourth seed and then have an epic second-round matchup with Detroit. Doubtful. Doesn't the NHL reseed after each series? Yes, the top remaing seed plays the lowest remaining seed in round 2. No auto 1/8 vs. 4/5. I like it.

    They deserve it. 2nd straight ugly start from this team. Guess it's a difference of opinion. I am not one of those "anti-booers", but I think a team should REALLY deserve it to get booed. If the Hawks are down late in the 2nd or in the 3rd and have a PP like that... boos would be completely warranted.

    WHAT A SAVE by Huet on that Nash breakaway... wow! Well... I haven't heard boos at all this year in the UC even on bad PPs, maybe if it happens twice in the same game it's necessary. Anddddd now it get's chippy.
