I remember Claude Lemieux boarding the bejesus out of Draper and playing again in the league. Chris Simon played after multiple transgressions. OK, maybe they weren't slashes, but other on-ice transgressions that are much more damaging than some words. I know Avery's a pain in the ass and has done some borderline illegal stuff on the ice, but if words are enough to get someone banned from the league, then that's just dumb.
