  1. Have you not heard Bonds before? What would that conversation be like, Dusty: Hey Barry, you should get off that stuff. Bonds: Go f&%* yourself! Now, I'm sure Bonds would never say that to dusty, but Bonds beats to his own drum. He is going to do what he wants to do. Dusty is not at fault for any of this, he is too loyal to say anything about the whole situation.
  2. What do you want him to do, throw Bonds under the bus?
  3. I was at the game in St. Louis that Bill Mueller got hurt sliding into that sign. For some reason, he was always one of my favorite Cubs.
  4. I can't find it anywhere. My buddy wants to order his sister a Pierre Cubs jersey for Christmas. Any help is appreciated!
  5. Minaya helped build the Indians into the team they are now with the prospects he traded them (Sizemore, Lee, etc.)
  6. From Rotoworld... Mike Cameron may have asked the Mets for a trade to a team that would play him in center field, the New York Daily News reports. According to a high-placed Mets operative, Cameron put in his trade request before the start of the GM meetings yesterday. The Mets are open to the possibility of moving Cameron and upgrading offensively in right field. Getting Manny Ramirez would be ideal, but if that doesn't work out, other scenarios can be explored. 7. Lets assume that Murton wins the LF job in the spring and Patterson is traded in the winter. How about these options for center and right... Randy Winn: Not the flashiest of players, but plays a solid outfield while putting up career averages of 290/350/430. He's been slightly above those numbers this year and has stolen 19 bases. He won't turn 32 until June of next season. Almost positive he's a free agent. Chad Tracy: Turns 26 in May, has hit 25 hr's in right around 500 at bats. Potential to be a consistent 300/350/525 hitter. Moved to the outfield this year after playing third and first the last two seasons. By no means a gold glover, but should be more comfortable there next year. As has been discussed numerous times, the D-Backs have a lot of options next year in the outfield and on the corners, but are pretty much stuck with what they have. Gonzalez, Green, Clark, Glaus, Conor Jackson, and Carlos Quinten. They also need a centerfielder. Winn cf Murton lf Lee 1b Ramirez 3b Nomar ss Tracy rf Walker/Barrett 2b/c Barret/Cedeno c/2b Just two options I hadn't heard a lot about. I think the D-Backs are a prime trade partner for one of our outfield spots. Your thoughts?
  8. Great, I get to watch Neifi and Macias in the same lineup this weekend.
  9. If we could somehow get Giles and Furcal, I would be ecstatic. But I just don't see Giles in Chicago, as someone mentioned earlier. If we did get Giles, we could keep Corey and bat him eighth, at least we'll know he'll play decent defense and anything he would add with the bat would be bonus. Also, if Corey wasn't used to acquire a starter, we would still have to sign another starter that we could depend on making 25-30 starts next year. Don't fool yourselves, Neifi will definitely be back, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if he only plays off the bench to give Furcal and Walker a rest. Furcal Murton Lee Giles Ramirez Walker Barrett Patterson Neifi Blanco Branyan (I like this idea) Hairston (I think he'll be traded) ??? Zambrano Prior Wood Maddux Millwood (???) Closer: Dempster or Ryan Novoa Williamson Ohman Aardsma Wuertz
  10. Anyone have Brownlie's numbers since his move to the pen? Just from following the boxscores everyday, they seem to be pretty darn good.
  11. A friend of mine was the mascot for the Carp the last two years. He came back home in May though. He loved it there.
  12. I work for the Bats in Louisville and he was the same way last year when he was on rehab here with Pawtucket. Couldn't have been nicer to everyone. Signed autographs before and after games, didn't turn down an interview. Great to know one of your favorite players is a great guy as well.
  13. Last year, Nomar came to Louisville on rehab when he was still with the Red Sox. He couldn't have been better to fans and everyone else. He would spend 20 minutes before every game signing autographs and taking media requests. So, if you want an autograph, make sure you take a ball and a sharpie your chances will be pretty good.
  14. They have also opened 3-40 man spots with their recent moves. Paving the way to Tradeville!
  15. Kelly and Machado were on the 25 man roster, they had to clear 2 spots for Kearns and Freel. Therefore, Kelly and Machado werre claimed and the spots were opened.
  16. Recalled Kearns Activated Freel Kenny Kelly claimed off waivers by Washington Anderson Machado claimed off waivers by Colorado Interesting!
  17. So Hoffpauir takes J-Dub's spot, who gets released from Iowa when the Cubs have to make their move. Also, when did Marshall go on the DL and what for?
  18. I disagree with BleedCubbieBlue. If Pie was healthy, I think he would be in a Cubs uniform instead of Greenie. For once, maybe Gammons was right all along.
  19. With Hill being sent to Peoria to stay on his regular schedule, do you all think Hoffpauir is being used the same way by being sent to West Tenn? Micah has been heating up the last few weeks and with Lee's injury and the potential for trades, I think they want him to get regular at bats in case something happens. Do you think he'll be sent back to Iowa after the All-Star break? Just curious
  20. The idea of trading Patterson to the D-Backs is an interesting one. Would a package of Corey and a pitcher be enough to get Quentin? Like people said earlier, he is blocked by Gonzalez and Green through at least next year. Could he be our everyday LF now or would he need more time in the minors? His numbers have been great all year. Hairston Walker Lee Burnitz Ramirez Quentin Barrett Cedeno (pipedream) I don't think we're going to win anything this year anyway and a change of scenery for Corey is probably what is needed.
