  1. That's not a real thing...is it?
  2. I really don't understand the Kenney hate.
  3. Yogi, is that you? :DIt's probably not.
  4. Who said Jackson would be the savior? He has a chance to be really good, but I don't think that many people are expecting way too much. Besides, everyone knows Castro is the savior.
  5. Yes. And when was the last "temper tantrum" I've thrown here, exactly? It's been quite a while. Chill, dude. You seem hostile. So you admit you have(or had) a problem? Then you should be more understanding of Truffle's illness. He needs the support of someone who's been through this.
  6. I will not. I think everyone would appreciate it.
  7. So basically, he just needs a new bat? ...I'll show myself out.
  8. Bottom 3rd: Colorado - D. Fowler walked - D. Fowler stole second - T. Helton singled to shallow center, D. Fowler scored - T. Tulowitzki sacrificed to pitcher, T. Helton to second - S. Smith grounded out to second, T. Helton to third - I. Stewart fouled out to third Small ball.
  9. Maybe Law is a baby hater.
  10. So you want us to ignore his decade of dominance and trust you cuz you saw him have a few bad swings? Oh ok good plan
  11. I'd actually be fine with trading him for best offer on the table, whatever it may be. If all the offers are crap right now, however, I have no problem keeping him through tomorrow and trying to deal him in August. One way or the other, though, I think we should go ahead and trade him even if the offer is underwhelming. Yeah I can understand this, but I think I'd rather hope for a comp pick.
  12. Good idea. A player shows us amazing loyalty despite fans and media criticizing him constantly, so what should we do? Tell him to either sign an awful deal or [expletive] off. Just brilliant.
  13. Hahahaha settle down. You don't even know what the Pirates are giving up, if the deal even happens. Not trading Pena is a bad idea, but potentially not really that bad. It's being reported that the Orioles are getting a Class A hitter for DLee. Yeah I wanna trade him badly, but basically giving him away would be pretty dumb.
  14. is this a joke? Let's give him 3 year/$10 million and say deal with it, buddy. He wants to stay with the Cubs, so obviously he isn't allowed to say no.
  15. Hahahaha settle down. You don't even know what the Pirates are giving up, if the deal even happens.
  16. But apparently he'll make $23 million each of the next 3 years.
  17. The team can't move Z or Soriano, and there's no reason to move Ramirez unless the offer is really, really good. And I don't mind seeing the Cards and Crew giving up their long term assets for moderate, very short term gains. Meanwhile, Ricketts is pouring money into the amateur side, which is a new, very positive direction. This offseason will be the first since the new ownership took over in which there will be substantial money to be spent. I'll wait until well into the offseason before I cast any aspersions about the direction of the team. I agree re: the amateur side. But how can a guy like Jeff Baker be "untouchable"? Come on. He's a role player. Same thing for DeWitt. What exactly do you think we could get for these guys?
  18. I'm not sure why you'd have that feeling. I'm pretty sure they won't try to convince us a 34 year old is a long-term option.
  19. Baker can actually really help us next year, especially in a platoon at third if we don't bring Aramis back. I agree that saying what Hendry did and then appearing desperate to dump Z doesn't make any sense. Yep, Baker can help the Cubs finish 5th again. He is a BENCH player, none of them are so valuable that they can't be traded if a team like Boston wants to give up a young player. What if that young player is just minor league filler? There's no point in trading him when we will likely get nothing of real value in return.
  20. Except we didn't get an average year from Gregg. He was pretty awful.
  21. Whatever dude, imagine if you're like a reds fan or something and it's your first time to Wrigley, and you're listening to a team 20 games under .500 sing about being the best in the league. Nice first impression of our fan base. I could go on and on about this, I'm sick and [expletive] tired of being this lol fanbase that we're perceived as. The casual fan thinks the usual Cub fan is a beer drinking idiot, Im sick of it. I want to be the caged [expletive] animal that takes everything seriously and just mauls teams and fans. [expletive] that stupid song. I want to be in first place talking about pillaging and scorched earth theories. This is really weird.
  22. Why the [expletive] does that middle paragraph need to be there? It's like he's trying be the worldly journalist teaching the small town inbreds about life outside of Williston, ND. Read that quote again but omit the middle thing. Why is it there? Also, why the hell is 'Ratings' randomly on the end of the paragraph? He struggles to get two sentences per paragraph. It's pretty obvious he doesn't understand how they work.
  23. I never said he was a key player. He has value to the team because he's cheap and decent. We likely wouldn't get anything worthwhile for him in a trade, so that defeats the point. Our division has solid teams, but no great team. That's why we can compete next year. Also, the Cardinals and Brewers are likely losing their superstar first basemen. Agreed, although I would not agree that Pujols likely leaves. Yeah, hopefully would be a better word there.
