  1. He has been very patient and given us a .409 OBP along with some good defense. He doesn't have a great SLG%, but his OBP makes up for it. A .847 OPS is pretty good. I still think he should be batting first or second.
  2. Who judges a pitcher by their W-L record?
  3. DeRosa as an All Star? I don't know about that. I think the only two positions where the Cubs shouldn't get all star consideration is 2B and CF. DeRosa's actually been the third best 2B in the NL this year (though far behind Uggla and Utley). If there's any position that shouldn't get all-star consideration after CF, it's 1B. Yeah because he has been the fourth best offensive first baseman, and the best defensive first baseman means he shouldn't get any consideration? Closer to the 12th best offensive first baseman with a .275 EQA, behind Berkman, Pujols, Gonzalez, Helton, Fielder, Conor Jackson, and Teixeira in the NL alone. And Lee hasn't exactly been the best defensive first baseman this year. Average, though. Yeah, because that is the only stat that matters. I've watched most all Cubs and Braves games this year, and if you truly think Tex has had a better year then Lee, then you are a joke. Disregard his home run totals, and the fact that he still has a decent batting average. Defense has been average, wow. He has made some amazing plays late in games this year. But hate on players thats always fun. Great argument, wtg. How does this happen all the time? What is with people and the eye test? ?

Sure, maybe Derrek Lee has made some great plays, but his defense can still be average. Average defenders can still make great plays.
  5. If we were to have 2 guys pushing 40 in the outfield, Id rather Bonds be the second than Giles. better be joking otherwise I have a noose for sale you interested What are you talking about?
  6. DeRosa as an All Star? I don't know about that. I think the only two positions where the Cubs shouldn't get all star consideration is 2B and CF. He's got an .888 OPS behind only Utley and Uggla.
  7. Barry Bonds, your table is ready.
  8. Yeah, it's obviously a joke post. Too bad none of the jokes are funny.
  9. No, most people were saying it was a really good deal.
  10. So...like, they have intangibles?
  11. Maybe he pitched against us and shut us down?
  12. I'm so unexcited. btw, I haven't been watching, how many times have they mentioned that the Cubs haven't won the World Series since 1908?
  13. Who's Mark Buerhle?
  14. ugh...That doesn't even make sense. Why would it even matter if he didn't learn how to pitch until he was 25? He was great last year. Hasn't he earned the right to have more than five starts to prove himself?
  15. When's he gonna start pitching like it? Probably when the Cubs decide to stop screwing around with him. i really can't allow myself to blame this on the organization it is hill's fault...whatever his problem is... hopefully he can figure it out and come back up to the big club, until then...we have to look elsewhere Really? He had four starts where he wasn't even that bad. Then, the Cubs decide to wait nine days before starting him again. He did awful and the Cubs sent him down. You don't think that could screw him up? I would think that would hurt his confidence a lot. Sabathia was terrible earlier in the year and you didn't see the Indians freak out.
  16. So the Pirates are right there also, right? I wouldn't say that if I were you.
  17. When's he gonna start pitching like it? Probably when the Cubs decide to stop screwing around with him.
  18. This happened to me too. I can't explain it, but I don't like them anymore. My second favorite team would have to be the Athletics.
  19. The funny thing about this is that we have a number two pitcher currently in Iowa.
  20. Here's a game. It's called "count the good pitchers on the Tigers roster." Get past one and I'll give you a toy. at least 3 Please, tell me more.
  21. If we had eight clones of Dae Eun Rhee, I'd be pretty happy with our farm system.
