  1. Jimbo really outdid himself this year. Just a solid pitching staff he's put together.
  2. Well now they say Aramis has declined it. Interesting...
  3. Like him or hate him, that's pretty cool.
  4. Yeah, that guy sucks.... Way to step it up, Garza.
  5. Well, call Quade a genius. Time for a Sotobomb.
  6. Hill bats for himself while Soto stays on the bench. Love our manager.
  7. It says a lot when a play like that has come to be expected. It didn't even make me bat an eyelash.
  8. I'd rather sign Pena to a reasonable 2-3 year deal than pay a fortune to lure Pujols to play in Chicago until his 42nd birthday. On a side note, whenever Pena steps up to the plate lately, I get the same feeling that I did during Jim Edmonds' at bats in the summer of '08.
  9. I'll be at this game tomorrow. Weather's going to be nasty. Cold and rainy. Hope we get it in.
  10. Men on first and second, and the next two batters choke on a total of four pitches. Color me shocked.
  11. Can anyone on this team besides Soriano hit a homerun these days? Geez.
  12. Just another example of Cincinnati's redheaded stepchild complex. Bash St. Louis and Chicago because the city you play in has no redeeming qualities to brag about (and fans that don't show up to the ballpark even when you're in first place.) Have St. Louis players been this mouthy about Cincinnati and Chicago? Because from what I've heard it's only been the Redlegs (Phillips and Votto specifically.) What makes BP's comments even more ridiculous is the fact that Cincy's idea of delicious local cuisine is bland chili flavored with chocolate and cinnamon and poured over wet noodles. Cincinnati is a hellhole when it comes to good local eats.
  13. Hey now, Lou is just trying to preserve the integrity of the divisional races, a la Dusty. Also, gotta showcase Koyie for a potential waiver deal for another middle infielder!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Again, Soriano gets a lot of unwarranted [expletive] from fans, including Cubs fans, and he's always taken it in stride. Good guy.
  15. I love it.
  16. It's not even him pointing out the Cardinals propensity to bitch and moan about the opposition cheating (which is a fair point). If he would have articulated that to the media, I'd be the first one in his corner. It's the "I hate the Cardinals," "Carpenter is a bitch," "I hate the Cubs and their fans," et al that I have a problem with. A big reason Reds players feel comfortable doing this in the media is because the redneck fanbase in this city LAPS IT UP. Call him a bitch all you want while you're in the locker room, but have a liiiiiiiitle bit of class and composure in front of the camera.
  17. As opposed to St. Louis I was gonna say, I really don't think people in Cincy are too envious of St Louis STL and Cincy are both shithole cities, but Cincy wishes they had a modicum of STL's baseball success over their past 15 seasons. LOL @ Reds44, why am I not surprised? This guy echoes the reaction of 99.9% of Reds fans in this town. "Love what he said, you go Brandon, love that fire, love that emotion, blah blah blah." Nothing to be said of "shut up and play." Rob Dibble's meathead schtick fits this town to a "T."
  18. Please do not allow the fact that the Cardinals are involved in this skew your emotions. The Reds are awful, and keep running their mouths about "hating" other teams, fans, etc. The whole city of Cincinnati has an inferiority complex and the behavior of the Reds and Bengals players is just a microcosm of this. Cincinnati is a cultureless, boring, muggy hellhole of a city so they feel they have to be [expletive] talkers to be on the same level as other cities. Votto, Phillips, Cueto, Volquez, and the rest of the thugs on their team can all [expletive] off. I hope Cueto is suspended the rest of the season for cleating LaRue in the face. Sucks to be a Cubs fan that's rooting for the Cards to win the division, but that's what living in Cincinnati will do to you.
  19. Cincinnati has a major red-headed stepchild complex going on. Votto runs his mouth about the Cubs, Phillips runs his mouth about the Cards (and Cubs.) Once again, when you're a cellar dweller for the better part of 15 years, routinely are outnumbered in your own park by the opposing fans, and you live in a cowtown like Cincinnati, all you can do is talk [expletive] at that point. Phillips is a little punk. He got drilled a few weeks ago by the local cops doing 90mph in a residential zone and laughed it off like it was a big joke. I hate little fucks like him. Straighten out your ballcap, [expletive].
  20. Big on the field brawl before the first pitch at GABP tonight. Ejections in progress!!
  21. So do we need leadership or do we need younger players, Larry?
