  1. gonna be disappointed if the cubs don’t lose because the pitcher has to bat because the cubs ran out of position players after ross pinch ran villar, who was immediately doubled off, and then didn’t stay in the game.
  2. lol great strategy using villar as a pinch runner there. ross is incompetent.
  3. but maybe heyward’s first 2,800 cub PAs were a mirage. gotta find out for sure.
  4. with the pull shift on, of course
  5. thankfully it’s the heyward/madrigal experience in the bottom half. it’s so hard to be a good offensive team when the bottom your order is just absolute trash.
  6. cubs were probably never gonna be very good, but they sure as horsefeathers aren't gonna be good with hendricks and stroman both being terrible. yikes.
  7. ph for Rivas and let simmons hit. ross is so bad at his job.
  8. was contreras lifted for a pinch runner because he was hurt or because ross is a terrible manager?
  9. ah so he's terrible AND he allowed the human element to impact how he called the game. wish there was a way to make sure that didn't happen...
  10. how the hell did hendricks walk two guys in the first with this clown's strike zone?
  11. can’t believe that in 2022 umps still fall for the “yank the ball 8 inches toward the plate” move. if the catcher moves it THAT much he prob knows it wasn’t a strike dummy.
  12. i think watching zach davies strike out the side is all I need to see of this one
  13. damn did i nail that.
  14. 6.5 games out on May 1st ain’t great fellas
  15. good job making that painless and thankfully that hilariously bad check swing call didn’t matter
  16. that whole thing started with what has become maybe my biggest baseball pet peeve…pounding the outside corner with the pull shift on.
  17. ross is such an obviously bad in-game manager. just painful to watch.
  18. that might be the game that ends any optimistic hope of being decent. giving that one away followed by going like 4-10 in this next brutal stretch and being 9 games out seems pretty possible.
  19. he strikes out a lot for a guy that never strikes out
  20. hard to put an infield together when villar is unplayable on defense and madrigal is unplayable on offense.
  21. but they wouldn't be enjoying a wrigley day game because it's raining.
  22. well down 1 with 2 outs in the 9th at least wisdom is up with a chance to go deep and tie it. oops the slappiest hitter in baseball pinch hit for him in the 7th nevermind.
