  1. huh? the 2021 team was the defending division champion. the opening day lineup included happ, contreras, rizzo, bryant and baez. they were 100% "supposed to win" that season.
  2. as i'm sure i said on here 100 times, it was absolutely wild to me that there was little to no talk of firing a guy with a losing record over four seasons and zero playoff wins. glad hoyer decided to stop running this team like the pirates.
  3. there is not a manager on earth that would (or should) give up on the season at this point. can the people that were saying I was being ridiculous like two weeks ago at least acknowledge that I wasn’t being this absurd?
  4. he’s been thrown out on the bases twice and got picked off another time that the opponent screwed up. he’s also dropped a fly ball. those things have nothing to do with usage…they’re just being bad. he has stunk and should not be playing over anyone at this point. there are 1,000 bad things to say about ross (I’ve mentioned 817 of them), this ain’t one of them.
  5. I mean Braves extended everybody EXCEPT swanson and they seem pretty smart. I don’t know how tonight gets any more hilarious with the Kay blown save and Swanson choking in the clutch.
  6. i understand baseball is flukey and weird and silly things happen day to day but this really seems like choking.
  7. the cubs run differential tells you the cubs aren’t “terrible.” but they’ve been losing games on the margins all season because their bad GM put together a flawed roster that led to lots of bums taking too way many at bats and their manager consistently fails in close games. the cubs run differential vs their actual record is all you need to know about ross’ performance in close games.
  8. leiter is honestly the last guy I’d want out there. how do you not stick with merryweather?
  9. I mean if it makes seiya feel any better, the Braves would have for sure scored in the 9th anyway.
  10. they scored the go ahead runs on two walks, approximately 16 wild pitches and a dropped fly ball lol.
  11. I mean this is brutal obv, but the cubs are trying to hold on to a must win game with cuas/assad/smyly. that kind of horsefeathers was going nowhere fast in the postseason.
  12. all of those guys were obvious injury/burnout risks. not getting another RP was a huge failure.
  13. not even mad at cuas, assad, smyly or even ross. this game just shows you what a failure hoyer was at the deadline. they simply have no bullpen right now.
  14. ah the ol walk the first guy a reliever faces move. worked out great last inning.
  15. pretty wild that the cubs are just admitting leiter is toast.
  16. bunting with a guy that is 3-3 with a catcher on first base to hope for a single from a guy that only hits homers. masterclass.
  17. horsefeathers mother horsefeathers, cubs relievers LOVE walking the first guy they face.
  18. safe to say pretty much everything about PCA’s debut has been a disaster
  19. heart of the order up for the third time against one of the worst pitchers in mlb…four pitch inning
  20. the 13 inning loss in AZ is nothing compared to that loss by the reds my goodness.
  21. i guess he's looked good today, but i would have an extremely short leash with taillon right now.
  22. how is it that swanson has come in big spots 77 at bats in a row.
