yes, much like the committee i'm not going to put a ton of stock in one head to head game. i'm not trying to brag up isu at all. they have a rough road to making the tourney and i'm pretty iffy on whether they can do it. but in he 77 brackets at the bracket matrix, isu is in 73 of them. iowa is in 7. it's not like i'm takin some crazy biased homer position on this.

fine, we don't have to play the "if" game. right now, iowa state has a better resume than iowa. end of story. Based on what? rpi, bpi, every projected bracket in the world? Sagarin, Kenpom and head to head favor Iowa. when wisconsin gets a 1 seed i'll start putting some value in ken poms bracket predicting abilities.

You're in at 10-8 regardless of the BTT. All the bracket goons seem to think otherwise. Although I think at this point of the year they often overstate what teams need to do. i just don't think finishing 4-1 boosts them up enough...the only good win in that scenario would be illinois. that would leave them with five top 100 wins. that's how many iowa state has now (with 3 weeks left), and they're as on the bubble as it gets. But Iowa didn't lose to Old Style's Red Raiders. Or Iowa. yet here we are with iowa state with an rpi of 50 and iowa with an rpi of 81. by the way, iowa state probably needs to win 4 of their final 6 to get in, which i'm not sure they can do. but if they do, those 4 will include a win @ wvu + 2 of @ baylor, @ ou, vs. ku, vs. osu. if they pull that off, they certainly have a better resume than iowa.

i doubt akron would make it if they lose in their conference tournament. i think kentucky is toast. zero top 50 wins (unless ole miss creeps back up) and only two chances left to get one (vs. mizzou, vs. florida). i guess mizzou is a possibility since they're terrible on the road, but i wouldn't bet on it.

I was starting to think iowa might make it in at 9-9 until I realized they have the easiest conf schedule possible. the "we were .500 in the best conference in america" argument isn't as impressive once you realize 2/3 of those wins come from neb/penn st/nw/purdue.

you realize illinois is no better over that span, right? especially since i'm going to arbitrarily take out the bill self years (obviously awesome though).
