  1. is that a joke i've been here for like two days, i don't deserve it.
  2. i changed it, did it work? and yes 5-5 is clutch no matter how you put it still 1-6 isn't a good day even with a game winner No, it's still ginormous. darn on my computer it's down to size, any ideas as to what to do

  4. i changed it. i had to resize
  5. They are when you can hit 3-run homeruns. The thing is, the numbers indicate Soriano doesn't do well with runners on. Who's to say he hits those homers if there's someone on base? ah so you're your saying we have a 40-home run guy who can't do crap in the clutch. oh wait why'd we get him? remember soriano's unclutch walkoff a few days ago? ahh yes the1-6 day, how about Fontenots 5-5 day, that's clutch.
  6. so bat sori third and problem solved

  8. Haha Fox 31 in Colorado is carrying the Cubs game :) :) :) :D 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) YAY!!!!
  9. More like he pitched very well but got absolutely no run support. Dude. The wins column for a pitcher is the single most important stat there is. All the other numbers are good to have, but if you don't win they don't matter. wins=good pitching lack of wins=complete failure at life True but lack of run support is not a pitchers fault. It's not his job to produce runs it's eight other guys, his job is to limit other teams. I agree with you completely. It's a pretty long-running joke around here to make fun of pretty much all national media and anyone else who fails to realize that Big Z winning 14 (or whatever) games for a 67-win team with a 3.15-ish ERA had a better season than a 20-game winner in the AL east who had a near-5 ERA for an offensive juggernaut. yea that was ridiculous when he didn't win the cy-young

  11. Oh, I don't think that's a valid reason for putting him there. Just saying that since he is there, it's a nice thing to have. If I knew for certain that Fontenot was the real deal, I'd put him there. Since I don't, Soriano might be the best option we've got. Why not just give Fontenot a chance 'till he proves otherwise.
  12. I already go to church on Sundays, so that's 1. me too, chalk another up

  14. Or a number two hitter... or 3, where he is and perfect
  15. Fixed. Look, I really like The Riot. I wish he were the fantastic, .400-OBP type guy you seem to think he is. He's one of the guys I like most on this team, and that's not something I say much about a person having a season as bad as he is. But he really is not that great. He shouldn't be playing everyday and he definitely shouldn't be leading off. So he slumped, everyone does. The last two starts he did well and the one before that he pulled off a difficult squeeze to give the Cubs the win. End argument. End argument isn't going to help your argument at all. Especially if you're referencing a 3 game stretch. Jose Macias had a 3 game stretch where he went something like 11-15 a few years back. 3 game stretches tell you nothing. I like Theriot, and he's a perfect utility guy, spot starter, but it's looking more and more like he's not an everyday guy. Maybe I'm wrong, best I can say is it is simply my opinion, We'll see who's right. I have no idea who is. But I stand by my opinion

You're pretty new here to be throwing around "period" and "end argument" as if your opinions are the only valid ones (b/c that's what they are - opinions) - especially when the argument is whether Theriot should be hitting 1st. I like Theriot and it'd be great if he could play ML SS and OBP .400, but I don't think that's the case (his MiLB numbers don't support such a claim at all). I don't know where you get off saying that there should be no argument about his ability to hit at this level b/c if anything, there's no argument about his inability to hit at this level (I'm not saying that's true either, but if it's one or the other, the evidence weighs against him). I apologize for saying what I said but I stand by my argument. True i was out of line though.
  17. I love Murton but he is a number 2 hitter, sorry i have to disagree with you. Still remove Sori from the leadoff spot.

  19. Theriot is a prototypical leadoff hitter, and Alfonso leading off is a waste of his talent. a waste of his talent would be to sit him on the bench. its becoming redundant but he only leads off the beginning of the game. theriot is a protypical utility player. just because someone is a slap hitter doesnt mean they should lead off. a leadoff hitter should set the tone for the game, and a solo blast by fonz is about as tone setting as it gets. Yes but now he rarely has anyone to drive in.
  20. I am aware, but i thought people here would be more intelligent. I didn't mean to imply that you shouldn't have the same poll here. I think it's interesting at times to run the same poll here that's on another site and see how the results compare. The results on both pages shock me.
  21. Actually Mateo is in Peoria. He is coming off an injury (sore shoulder) and is rehabbing. I think the Cubs rushed him a bit to get on the rehab trail but he should be ready real soon to move up to another level. See, I knew Raisin would know.
