  1. Well, Thursdays decision may have gotten a lot easier.
  2. Sheets is never going to get Brian Cashman to make an incredibly stupid move next Winter is he keeps walking guys. I shouldnt say that, he probably will anyway.
  3. good play by Theriot. Too bad we couldnt get that elusive 4th out.
  4. Come on now. a 3 run jack seems inevitable at this point.
  5. Len just made sure that Ryan Braun will homer tonight. Maybe twice.
  6. So we're all in agrement that Ben Sheets will be getting his first hit this evening?
  7. who is arguing against that? LLF was ignoring it. Green has a career OPS of .747. Not so great. Would he do better in Wrigley. Certainly. Enough to make it worth while? Maybe. The point is, until it happens, this will remain speculation. Thats every trade rumor in the history of sports. Not exactly. Im debating whether Green would perform better in Wrigley than Petco. Not whether or not Green is going to be traded in genral.
  8. Maybe he should have thought of that before he got injured every season.

  10. Just stop it. Stop what? Explainign that theres no point in trading for a mediocre player when we have 2 guys who can potentially be just as mediocre as Green? Lets just go ahead and trade for CoCo Crisp when we already HAVE Reed Johnson and Felix Pie. I'm not saying that Cedeno is a gyuaranteed impact, but I am saying that theres no point trading unless its going to make an impact. Now if Texas was waving Michael Young in our faces, or for some reason Tampa Bay wanted to get rid of Carl Crawford, by all means go for it, but I will not join the Khalil Green band wagon. so having one player who can put up the numbers of your two players isn't an upgrade? Sure it is. Michael Young would be great.

  12. Why are we trying to give up on Cedeno now? Granted, theres a good chance that his past few weeks have been a fluke, and he'll go back to being a .222 hitter, but his numbers at every minor league level show that he does in fact at least have the potential to succeed in the bigs. I doubt he'll ever be a .350/100 RBI guy. but I could see him as a .285/15 HR guy, which is better than Green anyway.
  13. I had a dream this happened. Ricky Weeks charged Carlos Marmol. Marmol and Soto put him in some weird tag team wrestling move and then Derek Lee came over and punched Braun in the face knocking him out. It was pretty awesome. (I dream about the Cubs too much.) hahaha, that's an awesome visual. I hope there are no bench clearing brawls, though. I fear that Zambrano may actually kill a man and wind up in jail. I could totally see him breaking Craig Counsell over his knee.
  14. Matt Murton says hey. The difference is that Matt Murton will be traded for a few A-AA prospects, while Pie will spendthe bulk of the season as an extra set of legs.
  15. Soriano will bat leadoff. The sooner we just accept this fate the easier it'll be. If we didnt have a better option, it would be a lot easier to accept. Reed Johnson has been doing everything a leadoff hitters suppsoed to do, get hits, take walks, get hit, meanwhile Soriano is going to come back swinging for the fences, and probably wont be in shape to steal bases anytime soon, even with Kendall behind the plate.
  16. Kosuke Fukudome. Well... now I feel http://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/images/smilies/hali_nuija.gif I hope that the poster here was refering to prospects. I highly doubt that Lee, Ramirez, Soriano, Fukudome, Zambrano, Marmol, Wood, Dempster or even DeRosa or Lilly have ever been considered "trade bait".
  17. Maybe Im a bit ahead of myself, but is there a chance that Lou will experiment with this on Thursday: Johnson Cedeno Lee Ramirez Fuku Soriano Soto Derosa P Or can we pretty much assume that we'll see this: Soriano Johnson Lee Ramirez Fuku DeRosa Soto Theriot P
  18. And to think, he could have been our $18 million/year Loogy.
  19. A lot of the Brewers hitters are off to slow starts, in fact pretty much all of them, but the problem is, whenever good players are in a slump, that slump comes to Wrigley to die.
  20. Dont forget that Cub Killer Mike Cameron will be making his return.
  21. I doubt that Lou would give up on a guy whose essentially been limited to pinch hitting duty and late inning outfield subbing. If there has been nay talk of trading Pie, its due to Reed Johnsons performance.
  22. Every 20 years, only one Cubs prospect is allowed to pan out. This is Geovony Sotos turn. Pie, Colvin, Vitters, E-Patt, etc. must all be vacated from the orgnization for their own good, or else they'll end up like Gary Scott, eagerly awaiting their next opportunity to sing the 7th inning stretch because Belushi had to cancel at the last minute.
  23. The Brewers have looked flatter and tireder. However, Cub killer Mike Cameron is coming back, where he'll hit 4 home runs in the series and go 9 for 14 before fizzling out and finishing the season at .257 with 15 HRs, 12 of which will come against The Cubs.
