8 vs. San Diego 6 vs. LA 3 vs. Arizona 3 vs. Colorodo The NL West is the bain of our existance, and we have 20 games against them in 5 week period. At least we get that tough part out of the way fairly early on, not to mention getting off very easy against the AL with Toronto, Baltimore, and TB.
Toronto pays Thomas. Oakland pays him whatever he signed for (probably near the minimum) The move makes sense even if they are rebuilding because it gives them an .800 ops guy for free. So he gets paid twice? So it pays to sign a big deal, suck, hope to get released and sign somewhere else? That cant be right. The pro-rated minimum that Oakland pays him is deducted from what Toronto owes him. Gotcha. So essentially, Oaklands paying Canada.
They'll lose, because they suck as proven today. So what if they squeezed out a few close wins the past few weeks. They got lucky, and obviously they're luck has ran out. I kid, I kid. Seriously though, beat the damn Natspos. Seriously.

Once they smell Cubs pitching, lets just hope that Austin Kearns, Willie Mo Pena, Felipe Lopez, and Rob Mackowiak dont remember that they were once decent baseball players, at least against us.
That eas a sad, sad effort. Time to head to Washington, who while are a bad baseball team by all accounts, have some of our classic nemesi(nemesis plural?) in Willy Mo Pena, Felipe Lopez, and of course Austin freaking Kearns.
Marquis flirted with danger, but take him out now, and its still a quality start. Meanwhile there are 2 innings left, and this IS Coors field, vs. a pitcher with an ERA of 3.12, meaning if he stays the whole game, we owe him 2 more runs.
Getting beat by the Rockies offense would be understandable but the fact that we cant get anything going against this guy is not good. This is Coors freaking Field. We should be spraying the ball all over the place.
Have you seen that Phils lineup? garbage garbage Utley Burrell garbage garbage garbage garbage pitcher Kind of reminds me of those '05-'06 Cubs lineups.
Intereesting pick up by a team supposedly rebuilding from the ground up. So how does it work now? Toronto pays his salary, will Oakland pays league minimum? Does Thomas get paid twice, or does Oakland pay Toronto?
I don't think he has a ton a value at this point anyways. I think he has more value to the Cubs as a spare part than what they have been offered for him in a trade. It sucks for him personally but the Cubs are better off keeping him. Maybe the Iowa Cubs are better off, but not us. The fact is, when Soriano comes back, hes going to the cornfields. Just let him go. I think he has some degree of potential for someone else, and hes not valuable enough as a spare part to keep him around for our own selfish needs. Someone like Josh Kroeger or Jake Fox could serve as a replacement just as well as Murton if someone else gos down.
Maybe its for the best. Limit the damage. If he hasnt been doing what the rest of them have while hes injured, the last thing we want is for Derrek, Aramis, and Fuku to spark a rally and then Sorinao ground into a 1 pitch double play.
