That was his plan. he missed by 3 or 4 months. Too bad. Could it really have hurt some go nowhere team like the Giants or Rangers to give him a minor league deal with an invite? As long as he doesnt become some kind of side show act like Minnie Minoso and try to play in one game every decade.

I don't think so, just that he hopes the swelling in his hand has gone down enough by tomorrow night to play. Ah, OK... helps that it's a night game. According to rotoworld, hes quesionable. If I was Lou, Id sit him as a precaution, especially with Wellemyer pitching, but then again, If I was Lou, I wouldnt have...well, I'm not going to beat a dead horse(no thats not a tasteless Kentucky Derby joke), so I wont even say it.

Say what you will about the Cards lineup, but it kind of reminds me of the 2003 Cubs lineup before we got Ramirez. you had a bunch of mediocre hitters surounding Sosa and Alou. Luckily, the Cards dont have the pitching staff we had.
