  1. Marmol just didnt want Wood to have to deal with Ethier and Kent.
  2. Man our offense sucks. Hopefully, the Dodgers can stay suckier for a few more innings.
  3. Hopefully, Lou can trust Howry with Berroa, pitchers spot, and Pierre next inning and send in Wood to slam the door. Of course, theres also the off chance that we get some more runs. and theres the off chance that I win the lottery.
  4. I just walked back into the room to see a replay of last nights Kemp HR and almost smashed the TV thinkig it was happening now.
  5. Great job by Marquis when we needed him, but thank God Lou pulled him before it was too late.
  6. He currently a junior at the Hawk Harrelson school of commentating.
  7. lay off Morgan. He gives us important insight, like a pitcher batting .200 is the equivilant of a position player batting .300.
  8. Dont look now, but here come the designated Marquis meltdown innings.
  9. So the Dodgers were what, 3-12 before running into the "best team in baseball"?
  10. I would like to see Cedeno in the lineup more in the next few weeks just so we can get a better idea if he can actually be an important part of this team or if his hot streak was just a fluke. Im leaning toward the later, but who knows.
  11. theyre going to have to give up something of value, considering they traded the entire farm system to get Renteria, Cabrera, and Willis.
  12. Doubt it unless someone goes on the 60 day DL. He's not on the 40 man roster. They'd probably prefer one of the LHP. Of course they could always DFA Marquis. Or they could always do the smart thing and choke back the tears and DFA Chad Fox. Adam Harben, Billy Petrick, Sam Fuld, and Jake Fox could also be taken off the 40 man. Also Samardzia unless theres something in his ridiculous for a 5th round pick contract that forbids it.
  13. He and Carlos Quentin have yet to become aware of their true identities.
  14. For some reason, I get the feling were going either have one of those games where we forget how to play baseball all together, or have one of offensive outbursts we havnt seen in a while. No in between.
  15. I hear they're going to dig up Russell Branyan just for the Cubs series. thats the brewers Whoa, I was totally joking at the time.
  16. Interesting. were almost throught with this stretch, and were still 2.5 above with the best record in the NL, tied for the best in baseball. We faced injury depleted Pads, Dodgers, and Rockies, and swept the D-backs. What we werent expecting at the time of this post was: -The Rays 3, game set to be something to fear -While the Cubs and White Sox always play there best against each other, The White Sox are on the top of their hot strek, and The Cubs appear to be cooling down. Hopefully this trend changes in the next 2 weeks. -The continued success of the Cards -The road woes -the slumping of key bats. I guess we'll have to see what happens.
  17. Most of the rest of the NL is getting a similar benefit as us. Those guys you listed are missing significant time against everyone else as well. Where we are fortunate (knock on wood) isn't that our opponents aren't healthy, but rather that we are. Obviously, there other opponents get the same benefit, but the fact that were facing them all in a string is helpful. I mean look at the Rockies. We miss Hawpe, he comes back for the Brewers, and hits 2 home runs that ultimately decide both games. We've had a little bit of that against us as well. Remember Cameron coming off of the DL for Milwaukee and playing like an all-star? Only to regress against the rest of the league... The Brewers have been catching a lot of lightening in a bottle lately. What the hells up with Kaplar, Branyan, and Torres?
  18. Sadly, Marquis getting ocked wont get him out of the rotation. The only thing that might get him out would be a trade for a quality starter, and I say maybe becasue that might get Gallagher out instead. Lou doesnt trust Hill or Marshall yet. Even if Marquis were taken out of the rotation, hed be moved to the pen where he could potentilly do more damage.
