  1. Marshall looks great through 2, but Marshall always looks great through 2.
  2. Stop the presses, the Brewers are good and the Pirates suck. Its only the 4th, and both bullpens have taken over. I have a feling theres a lot more scoring left in that game.
  3. With Youklis, Kinsler, and Braun we have a record 2.5 Jews representing. And what happened to Griffey? I take it the CUbs fans and Brewer fans went vote crazy for Fuku and Braun and trumped the Reds fans who were to depressed about their awful team to care.
  4. Maybe Lou knows something we dont. Or maybe it's the white flag special. who knows.
  5. Today's game represent the difference between a 3.5 game lead and a 1.5 game lead. that is correct. Still, the 3.5 is a lot better. Still, lets just beat them because their the damn Cardinals. Watching them celebrate last night made me want to throw up and smash the TV, and considering I caught that last half inning at my favorite sushi bar, I probably wouldnt have been invited back,
  6. How many players are on the all star roster?
  7. I just hope the Cobs realize that this is their most important game of the season so far. theres a BIG difference between a 4.5 game lead and a .5 lead, especially with the Pirates having no intention of beating the Brewers.
  8. With the Cubs farm system, its not just the lack of quality players produced, its the amount of cant miss prospects that end up, well, missing. In recent years, what players have really come out of our system? Kerry Wood Carlos Zambrano Geovany Soto Carlos Marmol Ryan Theriot Dontrelle Willis Todd Wellemyer Mike Wuertz Mark Prior Rich Hill Brendan Harris Theres also a bunch of we'll see guys like Gallagher, Marshall, Pie, and Cedeno. And maybe we have a bunch of role players that have come and gone throughout the years. Theres probably a few more, but Im drawing a blank.
  9. We really need this game, coming off a heartbreaking loss, an all around dreadful road trip, and an off day tommorow. It sucks that Wody melted down like he did, but the offense needs to get back on track here.
  10. A lot of the guys who were supposed to come down to eart are, such a Ludwick, Burrell, and Branyan.
  11. Frankly, I think Milwaukee matches up better with San Francisco than anyone else. San Francisco has good pitching, but they need help across the diamond and power bats in the worst way. LaPorta would be a great fit as a RH power hitter. Alcides Escobar would be a massive upgrade over whatever they trot out there at SS (as would many other people). Cole Gillespie would fit in nicely in RF. Angel Salome would be a good fit, considering Bengie Molina will turn 35 next year. I don't see why Milwaukee doesn't try making a run at Cain or Lincecum. I could possibly see them dealing Cain. I don't see them dealing Lincecum until his contract year if they're still terrible. Although that they've finally gotten rid of Bonds, they till have dinsaurs like Durham, Winn, and Vizquel on that team, plus the idiotic Zito contract. They will need something to build on, so would you rather do it on 1 position player or an ace caliber pitcher? Theres really no need to move either of those 2, especially Linecum. He wont be do for a pay day any time soon. The thing about CC is that hes an ace pitcher with an expiring contract on a go nowhere team. Linecum is an ace pitcher with several years of service left on a go nowhere team.
  12. I may be wrong, but it really sounds like Bruce is sugarcoating things. We have the talent, but we don't match up? Yeah, in other words, we don't have jack. We've got a really good farm system. Its just not as good as all the other ones.
  13. Hes OPSing well over 1.000, but lets not get any wild ideas here. Hes proven hes a career minor league player. How did he get tagged as "The Creature" anyway? I never quite understood.
  14. I hope this was your intention. Cardinal fans dont deserve happiness. They deserve the miserable lives they lead.
  15. It really wouldnt though. They probably wouldnt give up LaPorta or Gamel for Bedard, however, he is arbitration eligible for 2009, and they be more likely to keep him around for another year. As for Wolf, is he really an upgrade over anything? Now I dont know how major league ready Escobar is, but I wonder if the Brewers would either send him to Toronto for AJ Burnett, or send them JJ Hardy and call up Escobar.
  16. i think we'll be contracted, or moved to Oklahoma City We should be able to get some decent prospects for Ramirez, Lee, Soto, Kosuke, Zambrano, Lilly, and Marmol. From a buisness stand point, a Rays/Brewers World Series will be MLBs worst nightmare.
  17. His role is minor league pitching coordinator, so he can travel throughout the system; he's not tied down to one team (much the same as Dave Keller with hitting). So he certainly could work with Hill at Iowa. He probably could in Chicago as well, but I don't know how common it is for minor league staff to work with players on the major league roster. They brought in Keller to work with Pie in Chicago. So of course it's an option. if it means getting hill back to the norm or better...i think you do whatever it takes... Kidnap Dave Duncan or Don Cooper.
  18. Cubs lose, Cards win, Brewers win, perfect night complete.
  19. Why? Because hes in a slump? Kosuke and Braun are both more deserving than Griffey.
  20. Man, you dont have to be Ben Sheets to shut down the Pirates. Or even Larry Sheets.
  21. The only way to get over it is to go get a hooker Then some Heroin, I mean a ton of it Then shoot a little while she waits Then Kill her before she gets any I promise after this you won't even think about this game again. thanks a lot a hole. she turned out to be a cop. Youd think she could have told me before step 4.
  22. Another annying aspect of the game is how right after it ended, FOX went to the Yankees game, and Mariano Rivera had the bases loaded with 1 out, and got out of it. It was almost FOX telling us "now watch the master at work." And speaking of stats, does anyone else find it odd that on a team build for power, a guy who has had 2 DL stints and has been out about a month now is still tied for the lead in home runs?
  23. Sure, that's easy, I know that stat without even looking it up: irrelevant. So there's no correlation between wildness and giving up runs? You can't walk accross the plate. Dude. In theory, all stats are irrlevant. Just because a hitter has 50 home runs, doesnt mean hes going to hit a hom run. If a pitcher has 20 wins, hes not going to neccessarily get a win.
