  1. Sorry if this has been discussed, but what are the corresponding roster moves? Obviously, Gaudin takes Gallaghers spot as the long relief/spot starter. Obviosuly, Harden enters the rotation, but does he take Marquis or Marshalls spot. What happens to the other? Will Micah Hofpauir come up for Murtons spot, or do they want a righty? Jason DuBois is the first option in that case. Im not oposed to giving him 1 more chance before closing the book once and for all.
  2. So why did we get Harden AND another respectable pitcher for 1 pitching prospect, a guy who will be a platoon outfielder at best, a guy whose proven he cant field to save his life, and a catcher we wouldnt need for years anyway? And am I crazy for wishing Hoffpauir was in the deal? He could thrive in Oakland, at least as a DH.
  3. Holy jesus, he pulled it off! After listening to my I Pod all the way home from work, and having dinner, I just turn on CSN and hear about Sean Gallagher packing his bags for Oakland, and knew it only meant one thing! Kudos Jim, Kudos. Now you can stick your face bag in that bucket of chicken with pride! So soes this mean Hoff comes back in Murtons place?
  4. Tavarez just signed with te Braves. How does this guy keep getting work?
  5. There was that rumor late last season that we were talking to the Royals about Greinke. Something like they wanted Pie, and we wanted to move Murton, but I think it was all rumors. If it was this season, I think wed send them Pie and Murton without question.
  6. The Dodgers wouldn't part with Kemp for CC, I'd be shocked if they'd be willing to dangle him for Jack Wilson. I know it sounds ridiculous, but this is the clipping from mlbtraderumors.com. I dont know how reliable they are.
  7. Im surprised that their not offering JJ Hardy or Alcides Escobar to the Dodgers who are reportedly desperate enough for a SS that they're considering trading Matt Kemp for Jack Wilson.
  8. The Royals have this idea in their head that they'll be contending next year, so they wont be doing much selling. I remember earlier in the season their was the Meche rumor, which he laughed off, pretending he was happy in KC.
  9. They also want Ray Durham and Jack Taschner from San Fran. They seem to have no site of the fact that they can either keep their farmo system in tact and be legit contenders for years to come or gather up a bunch of rent-a-players in persuit of making this their year. Hopefully Hendry can foil their plans.
  10. The only time I really did was a few years ago when I was taking classes and I had a 3+hour break between my aftenoon class and my night class, and I lived about an hour away. That semester, I saw I dont know how many movies that I never would have had any intention of seeing otherwise.
  11. Take Vitters and Samardzjia out of the deal, and it sounds good to me.
  12. C.C. Sabathia getting beaten by Mark Redman would make my evening.
  13. Make up your mind. It was bad punctuation. I believe it was intended to be like this: Yeah, Banedon has it right. I just screwed up and put a comma where I should have put a period. My bad. Still if we cant get Harden or Hudson, Id accept Burnett. Wolf or Maddux, not so much. We have to understand that other teams will be charging just as hard for these guys if and when they become available. I know Hendry usually gets his guy, but there are a lot of contenders who would like to get their hands on another quality starter.
  14. In comletely unrelated news, Ricky Nolasco is 10-4 with a 3.79 ERA. So hows Juan Pierre doing for us?
  15. Judging by the 38 threads, Im going to go out on a limb and say that the Cubs are interested in Rich Harden.
  16. May the Sabathia era begin in Milwaukee. Can 3 months really be considered an era?
  17. down goes our old buddy Kendall. Its all up to Shaggy now. Oops, Kapler first.
  18. Bill Hall down on strikes.
  19. ask again after this half inning. ??? If he hangs on to the lead, I'll be a Fuentes fan. If not, he can rot in Colorodo.
  20. Hall-Kendall-Counsell. Come on Fuentes, you can do this.
  21. ask again after this half inning.
  22. Time to see what Fuentes is made of here. He does have the soft underbelly of the Brewers lineup coming up
  23. Dont forget Gagne. He'll have first dibs, as they prefer he stay as far from the field as possible.
  24. This post made me laugh out loud. I guess with Sabathia now on the Brewers, I might have to distinguish which fatass I'm talking about. It is a home game, so you could be talking about anyone at the park.
  25. All those runs were unearned because the first guy reached on an ERA, and Buchholz ERA actually gos down. What a stupid rule.
