  1. Marquis will give up his usual 4 runs. Hopefully, the Cubs can scratch out 5. And then I can win the lottery.
  2. how can you argue with this evidence ARam's EqA the past four years, by the way: .307, .302, .292, .294 i'm just saying, either braun is a better hitter than ARam, or you're assuming that his minor league and major league performances are both flukes, and his PECOTA projections are too high. i think he probably is too, but it's not so clear cut that i'd be comfortable acting really pompous about it while ramirez is in a huge slump and braun is in the streak of his life And Albert Pujols career so far has been a 7 year fluke. Hes bound to crash to earth eventually.
  3. More than enough to get Hendry laughed off the phone. Maybe a Milton Bradley board game.
  4. The thing that gave the Cubs so much succes early on is that maybe aside from Soto, no one player is the best hitter in his position, but the fact that we had so much solidity and production all the way down the lineup. There wasnt a single easy out in the 1-8, and when Z was pitching 1-9. Now, you have about 7-9 easy outs pretty much every game.
  5. blah blah win, blah blah Cobs, blah blah Marquis, blah blah 2004, blah blah we suck.
  6. it sucked, but hey, the only thing cooler than being division leaders is being division co-leaders. yay division co-leaders. I cant wait until game 7 of the Brewers/Rays World Series finishes somewhere between TNA Impact and a What's Happenin Now marathon in the ratings.
  7. I wouldnt be worried about the bullpen if the offense has any idea what were doing. It seems as though every time the pen comes in, they're trying to prostect a 1 run lead or defecit.
  8. Good for them. The Cubs need someone to put the fear of God into them. So what does anyone know about Brandon Knight besides the fact that hes a bad pitcher? Edit: Apparetnyl, hes a 32 year old "prospect". good to know.
  9. We'll see if this gos as well as Mulders return.
  10. Gotta feel pretty bad for the Indians fans at this point. This will be the 60th year of their draught, which isnt quite 100, it still sucks. And much like the Cubs i '04-'06, they completely fall apart after coming so close, and now they're in the midst of a fire sale.`
  11. The offense will explode for 6 or 7 but the staff will give up 8 or 9. More likely, the Cubs win 10-6, and everyone thinks that the offense is back on track, and then they score 3 combined runs the next 3 games.
  12. I was watching the Yankees/Red Sox game, and the anouncers said that Latroy Hawkins was DFAd to make room on the 25 man roster
  13. That's ridiculous. What does Lou's ejection have to do with the offense? Obviously, they wouldnt magicly stop being bad, but it could get them fired up if Lou were to do one of his classic snaps. Kick up some dirt. Make the most out of it.
  14. Yeah, screw him. He only went 2-for-5 today. What a bum. No, you're right, he's definitely a $12M outfielder. Way to judge him based on four months in his first year in the majors. Hideki Matusi had a .788 OPS in his first year with the Yankees. He hasn't had one under .850 since. Not to mention that he's in the midst of a slump, which every single player in the majors goes through at some point during the season. I have more confidence in Zambrano at that plate than I do him. Although I could say that about most of our lineup at this point. That would be, well, irrational. But that's not really surprising. While Fukudome isn't lighting the world on fire, it's odd people are jumping on him for today like he lost the ballgame all by himself. His last AB was just one of many worthless AB's contribvuted by the team. Kosuke is one of the few Cubs hitters that are starting to come back to life. You really cant place too much blame on your 8 hitter when your team has forgotten how to hit. Maybe Gerald Perry needs to get to work.
  15. Lou should have gotten more out of his ejection, so maybe he could have pumped some life into his walking dead of an offense.
  16. Dont get your hopes up. The Red Sox have been teasing trading Manny for as long as I can remember. Aint gonna happen.
  17. Just sign Bonds now and decide what to do with him later. This teams needs HELP
  18. What a patetic joke. Rich Harden definitely deserves better then this. Cubs fans definitely deserve better than this. Once that Wrigley Field magic the Cubs had going early on is gone, this team is screwed.
  19. I get the feeling that the Astros hav given The Cubs all the help they're going to, which is really more than they deserve.
  20. I guess your pitching perfomances become meaningless when your offense loses complete interest.
  21. I we cant end this here, I dont like our chances.
  22. Just plant one between Hermidas eyes. I could care less what happens from there on out.
