  1. Covered in this Prince just likes to munhc on a few of these between innings. http://travel-junkie.com/travelogues/wp-content/gallery/kelimutu-flores/kelimutu-water-buffalo.jpg
  2. Were going to need more than that tonight, especially with the Cards urinating on the carcus of the once mighty Atlanta Braves.
  3. So I take it hes on one of his ridiculous hot streaks.
  4. Definite: Hoffpauir Pie(for speed if nothing else) Wuertz(unless traded) Ascanio Shark(if sent down before then) possible: Sam Fuld: as long as hes on the 40 man, he could be a good defensive replacement in the situation calls for it Jake Fox: again, as long as hes on the 40 man, may as well use him. Chad Fox: If hes healthy, and hasnt been DFAd. not on the 40 man, but room could be made: Jason DuBois: if he keeps dispaying the same power until then, it will be hard to say no Hector Carrasco: you can always use a verteran arm in the pen.
  5. we'll definitely be seeing Hoff again, and possibly Jason DuBois' Chicago Cubs Farewell Tour. Hector Carrascos another possibility.
  6. Harden through 6, Shark takes it from there. Bam, lights out city. Seriosuly, Id be willing to bet on LF Soriano CF Pie RF Fuku with Reed Johnson as the 4th. 2009 will probably be Pies last chance. He'll start the season, probably platooning with Johnson, and it it doesnt work out, they find someone else through a trade. Ironically his first also. True, as in case you havnt noticed, The Cubs as an organization arent always the most patient when it comes to prospects.
  7. If thats the extent of his "demotion" he should consider himself a very lucky man. Is there any more news about the criminal charges on him?

  9. When Ronny Cedeno comes to the plate in a big situation, I get a sinking feeling, and that isnt going to change. However, if you look up and down the league at back up short stops, its pretty much the same story. Much like a back up catcher, they're pretty much a defensive specialist. If it came down to it, Id take Ronny over Cesar Izturis or Craig Counsell any day.
  10. What is his complete arsonal anyway? He seems to live and die by the heater, and he has a decent slider as well. What is his off speed stuff like?
  11. Theres really no place for him unless someone gets hurt. Theres really nobody on the team who'se worth dumping. Even Cedenos decent for a back up short stop, or at least not any worse than Cesar Izturis or Craig Counsell. The only aquisiton that would be worth making would be a quality reliever, and now that the Rockies have apparently decided they want to keep Fuentes(alhought that might just be a last minute effort to try and drive up his cost even higher) theres nobody out there worth getting.
  12. we haven't owned it this year I think he was saying if we can beat Sabathia tonight, we should be able to take this series.
  13. I know its not our problem anymore, but its still good to keep tabs on em.
  14. If we are to move him without a DFA, we'll have to wait for the offseason. By now, everyone knows that in the first half of the season, hes a sllid 5, maybe even 4 starter on some teams, but once that second half rolls around, he dive bombs. Yesterday seemed to be the beginning of that dive bomb. With that in mind, and the fact that next year is the last year of his contract, I could see someone showing some interest. I doubt we'll get anything of value in return adn it would just be for the sake of giving the spot to Marshall, Hill, or Shark.
  15. Club option. http://thecubreporter.com/2008/07/09/easy-be-harden Thanks. I cant see him demanding a trade, so we get to enjoy him for at least another year.
  16. Sabathia has stated his first 2 choices are The Dodgers and Angels, both teams that would love to have him, and both teams that could easily afford him. What other FA pitchers are there for Cuban to snatch up? Ben Sheets. I'm good with one injury risk in our rotation, thanks. I'll admit, this is a biased choice. I've wanted to root for Sheets since he left Northeast Louisiana. When the Brewers weren't that good, I could root for him in every start he didn't face the Cubs. The last two seasons, not so much. If he were on the Cubs, he'd rank right up there with my Theriot/Fontenot love. And then again, it could be Prior and Wood all over again. Id be willing to bet that Sheets ends up with one of the NY teams anyway.
  17. Does anyone know if Rich Hardens 2009 option is a player or team option, and how likely it is to be picked up?
  18. Sabathia has stated his first 2 choices are The Dodgers and Angels, both teams that would love to have him, and both teams that could easily afford him. What other FA pitchers are there for Cuban to snatch up? Ben Sheets John Lackey John Garland Paul Byrd Derrek Lowe AJ Burnett Brad Penny

  20. with 2 outs, ony Prince Fielder and 5 runs are between us and first place once again.
  21. The best part is I can look back at the pages in this thread from the first few innings and laugh.
  22. Wow. Awesome. Hopefully, Sharks a keeper. back in first it is. For now.
  23. Yeah, Shark looked nice out there, but with Ramirez-Hermida-Cantu coming up next, I dont think he'll chance it. Maybe if we can get a few more runs. It was one bad pitch that wasn't all that bad that stopped him from getting through the 1-2-3 on Friday. It's not like they lit him up. But this Marlins order is tough: Ramirez-Hermida-Cantu, and then theres Willingham-Jacobs-Uggla. No easy task.
