I dont think its anything against Eyre, unless hes injured. Its really just a case of Lou trying to get a better feel fo Samrdzjia. Yeah, hes looked great in his first few games. He made a few mistakes, but it happens. With Wood hopefully coming back in the not too distant future, Lou is trying to figure out if Shark is going to stay up, or if hes just the new guy that other teams havnt figured out yet. Remember, Ascanio looked great in his first stint up. We will be seeing an awful lot of Shark in many different situations between now and when Wood is ready. Lou needs to see if Shark is his guy with Howry being so awful, this could make Howry very expendible, maybe as soon as tommorows deadline. This was a perfect opportunity for him to pitch. Hes still available tommorow if needed, as are Gaudin and Marmol. Eyre is essentially obsolete as long as Cotts and Marshall keep performing well.
