  1. Time for Brox to close the deal vs. Counsell, Cameron, and Kendall. Man, without Braun, that Brewers lineup is less than intimidating.
  2. No cycle for Casey.
  3. So was Harts fly out as close to a 3 run bomb as gameday lead me to believe?
  4. Its almost as though when Joe Morgan dubbed it the best bullpen hed ever seen is when it began to unravel.
  5. Interesting how 3 sub .500 teams are in the top 3 in runs allowed. I guess it proves that good pitching wont beat good hitting any day.
  6. with 8/14 converted save opportunities, Big John Broxton is about as inconsistant a closer as you can get.
  7. I dont know ho the hell Ramon Troncoso is, but he wouldnt have been my first choice to protect a 1 run lead.
  8. With E-Patt on deck. I was hoping hed get the chance.
  9. Does anyone have Marshalls stats since returing to the big leagues this year? Hes been pretty solid since that first outing that didnt go so well.
  10. And crazy Matt kemp flies out to center. The good news for the Dodgers is 3 innings with the Brewers pen.
  11. I trust he wont try to slink into the clubhouse this time.
  12. We win this one, we win the season series. And for the record, I didnt even ralize that Anibel "Why the hell would someone name a boy Anibel" Sanchez was even back in the majors.
  13. Mighty Casey has tied the game with a 2 run shot.
  14. Cantu really does look like hes had a run in or 2 with Dateline NBCs Chris Hanson.
  15. Poor Parra and the Brewers thinking they're still playing those teams where an early 2 run lead=a win.
  16. So I went to see Tropic Thunder this evening, awesome movie by the way. When I went into the theatre, we were down 5-3, and toward the end of the movie, I almost jumped out of my seat when I checked the score on my phone and saw we pulled it out. It wasnt until just now that I found out it was off a Daryle Ward homer though.
  17. I was wondering that myself. Hes finally starting to hit a bit, and hes sat. Any injury?
  18. Agreed, glad to hear he is alright and glad he still got the day off. My sentiments exactly.
  19. team unity/chemistry, which is bigger than a pitcher missing a start or a position player being suspended for a couple of games. They're not suspending for a couple of games anymore. That Braves buscher got 3 games for throwing at Soriano. They're giving out 4-6 game suspensions for all out brawls these days.
  20. The interesting thing about Edmonds is that while he started his major league career in 1993 with the Angels, theres no record of him playing between 2000-2007. Was he in Japan or something?
  21. Thanks for the update. A poster at my other board attended the Guzman game the other day and commented on it, so I thought I'd pass that along too: "I saw Guzman pitch last night... From what I saw his velocity was 96-97-98 all night. He didnt throw any offspeed pitches worth a crap at all. I only saw 2 curveballs out of however many pitches he threw and oldfan could have hit them. I didnt see any signs of a changeup or slider." Obviously that's a mixed report. The absence of any breaking stuff, and the couple being apparently pretty ugly, is discouraging. But the velocity report I think is very encouraging as to Angel's health. An article posted earlier had mentioned him hitting 95, and had also mentioned that his first 13 pitches were all fastballs. But when an article mentions 95, I'd thought that might be his fastest tops-at-95 pitch, and that perhaps he was resting more in the 90-93 zone. Which might be less than he used to throw, and not fast enough to workin the majors without movement or offspeed stuff. But if he was at 95 by one report and routinely hitting at least that fast on tennessee's stadium gun, then it's apparent that he hasn't lost much if any of his former velocity. Which would suggest that, at least for the moment, he's healthy. If he's healthy and throwing mid 90's or better, he's a prospect again. And IIRC Az Phil says that he still has options for next year, so he can work on getting his offspeed stuff back during the remaining outings this summer, during winter leaguer perhaps, and then in the minors next spring. So are you essentially saying not to hold our breath for him to make an impact this season?
  22. Parra/Billingsly Bush/Lowe Suppan/Kershaw Nice. Those are pretty favorable matchups for the Dodgers. Dodgers have a tough lineup too Ethier Kemp Kent Manny Loney Martin Nomah Casey Blake Juan Pierre off the bench. This will be nice test for the Brewers after everyone saying how unbeatable they are after going 8-2 against 3 of the worst teams in history. What's really great is: A. They're facing a team with more than one major league starting pitcher B. They're facing a lineup that'll be able to hit that crap the Brewers call a bullpen (one can rave all they wish about these unbeatable Brewers but, when you've got Solomon Torres as your closer you're going to have problems) C. The Dodgers miss Sabathia and Sheets D. Its at Dodger Stadium Which is why the sweep isnt out of the question, plus its part of the Brewers MO. Just when you think they're unstoppable they go on a 2-8 streak, and then when you think they've collapsed, they go on another winning streak.
  23. I think it was pretty dumb. Yeah, Lilly was looking out for his guy, but whats the point in potentially risking suspensions vs. a team whose going nowhere any time soon? I think sweeping the season series is all the retribution we needed. You know how heated those bench clearing brawls can get, and we cant afford to risk anyone getting suspended, aside from maybe Ward and Howry.
  24. I found this list on mlbtraderumors. I know Questions often come up about whose free next year, so this is a pretty complete list. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2007/12/2009-mlb-free-a.html I thought Reed Johnson was free after this year. I guess not.
