  1. Everyones saying, better be in a slump vs. the Nats and Reds than the Philles or Brewers, but if you end up losing anyway, it really doesnt matter who beats you.
  2. Nice job by Jokeudome. My god does this team look bad.
  3. Now lets get back to that whole scoring runs thing.
  4. Seriously, everyone just swing for the fences, because nobody has any intention of driving any runs in any other way.
  5. i guess you aren't satisfied with his .375/.463/.607 line in august? i guess you are pining for the normal aramis rather than the ted williams that he's been this month? OPS+ the last 5 years: 138, 135, 126, 129, 130 EqA: .307, .302, .292, .293, .297 so i have to say that i have no idea what you're referring to. I should have clarified...I'm a simplistic creature yearning for more HR power out of the 3-4 slots where it's typically found on most teams. Aramis isn't having a bad year at all, but his odd slack (for him) in the HR department combined with Lee's regression to the norm is a tad frustrating given the typical expectations of those spots in the lineup. The power boost throughout the various memebers of most of the 5-8 slots over the year have obviously helped make up for it, but I'd prefer to see the 2 guys in front of them, especially Aramis, to be adding more of their own. who doesn't want to see Lee and Ramirez power up? lucky that others have been carrying their weight. they went into a coma last post-season, would be nice if they were awake for this one. It's worrisome to think that the Cubs might have to rely on a group of players who are overproducing in October, because it's very likely they will no longer be overproducing at that point. Those players should be augmenting the performances of the 3-4 hitters, not making up for them for huge chunks of the season. Aramis is just fine, but I agree that Lee just doesnt cut it anymore as a number 3. Number 3 should be your best all around hitter, and Lee aint it this year. A productive Soriano would be an ideal #3, but he doesnt want to hit there. I wouldnt be opposed to batting DeRosa 3 for a little while and see how it works out. I also find it a bit disturbing that the best offense in baseball has 1 guy OPSing above .900, and its a pitcher.
  6. We're fighting for a 6-2 homestand here vs. 2 of the worst teams in the game. Make it happen. Offense, Im looking in your direction. Seriously, its the Nationals. The god damn Nationals. Beat them. Its why they exist.
  7. But apparently, were not supposed to care what the Cardinals do anymore.
  8. The Cardinals ae actually more like the White Sox than they are the Twins.
  9. Gooz with 2 innings, 1 ER 3 hits 2 SO 0 BB. I wonder if Bad Bob Howry will keep his cool when Gooz comes for his job.
  10. I wish we had a power hitting prospect in his late 20's in our farm system.
  11. Hoff 3-5 with a triple and 4 RBI. Please find a way to get him back in Chicago where he belongs.
  12. Good teams beat up on bad teams. It what they're supposed to do.
  13. Cubs won 7-2. Marquis pitched decently, and the bullpen pitched 3 solid innings. If only that were the truth.
  14. Between the Mets, Phillies, and the Cubs, the Brewers dont exactly have a cake walk in September.
  15. A big :banghead: you to Zack Duke and the Pirates.
  16. Ive always been perplexed by the Schwimmer photo. Whats up with that?
  17. Pirates go down quietly itme for a patented Brewers big inning with Braun, Fielder, and Hart coming up.
  18. Maddux, Smoltz, and Glavien all need to ride off into the sunset together already. It would be pretty sweet for them to be inducted onto the HOF together.
  19. Jason Marquis was adorable through 5. We all know how that turned out.
  20. Gaudin and Cotts have the right to bad outing. Marquis and Howry, on the other hand need to go, especially since we alrady have better alternatives. Who knows, Marquis is usually pretty solid the first few innings, maybe hed thrive in a bullpen role.
  21. Looks like Pittsburg has the early advantage here, not to say that they'll hang on to it, but it would make this afternoons bruising a bit easier to swallow if they manage.
  22. Yeah, but this one was down right embarassing. What does that even mean? The Cubs got their collective anuses handed to them by the worst team in baseball. Its like if your the captain of the fooball team and some turd with a star track shirt and spock ears kicks the crap out of you.
  23. Yeah, but this one was down right embarassing.
