  1. Some guy named Matt Antonelli struck out to end the Padres mini threat.
  2. Sox fans have their own stuff to worry about.
  3. Too bad the rain were getting today didnt come last night.
  4. Good to hear the encouraging news about Z and Harden, but it will all be moot if the Cobs cant go back to doing that thing where they score more runs than their opponent.
  5. Whatevers going on, these guys need to kiss and make up. Nobodys going to forgive them this time if they screw this up because of some stupid crap like this.
  6. Anyone know if we'll be hearing any results today or if we'll have to wait until tommorow?
  7. If he misses 2 starts, he misses 2 starts. Judging by his past 4 or 5, thats just whats her needs, and hopefully he can come back like he did last time.
  8. $100 says the Cubs don't win tonight. I'll take you up on that. So what time does Iowa play?
  9. The Tigers were a pretty good team on paper. How that work out? Not so well. Anyway, Im not to worried just yet. After the next 6 games, we'll see what happens. Still, after the amazing 4+months this team put together, it would be a shame to have to backdoor their way into the playoffs. If the Cubs win the WC they don't have to play the D-Backs in the 1st round. How's that for optimism. The Angels just went through the same type of slump. The Rays are currently in a similar slump. I would also remind everyone that the last time the Cubs slumped they followed that with a 4 game sweep of the Brewers. Also, before this slump started the Cubs had won 7 in a row. Phils, D Bags, and Dodgers not doing much better.
  10. MLB Injury Report: Hill brought up to go on 15-day DL: The Cubs added Rich Hill (back) to the roster and placed him on the 15-day DL on Monday. (Updated 09/02/2008). Injury Report Back - 15-day DL. Out for the season (Updated - 9/2/08) Even if Hill were healthy at this point, I would have more confidence in Marshall, Marquis, or Guzman to start over him. Why the hell did hey bring him up if hes out for the season and not put him on the 60 day?
  11. I asked this before: How serious is Rich Hills injury? Is it legit, or was it more of a giving up on the season type of thing. This would be a great oportunity at redemption for him.
  12. Correction. Dusty Bakers Reds featuring Corey Patterson.
  13. The Tigers were a pretty good team on paper. How that work out? Not so well. Anyway, Im not to worried just yet. After the next 6 games, we'll see what happens. Still, after the amazing 4+months this team put together, it would be a shame to have to backdoor their way into the playoffs.
  14. Another well below average pitcher that dominates us. We'll see if we can get to this one. We're do, right?
  15. With no game tommorow, and the Brewers sure to crush the hapless Padres, the only thing we can hoep for is good news about Z.
  16. Yea, that really means nothing in terms of the 2008 Cubs. Hell, the 2005 White Sox have nothing to do with the 2008 Cubs either, for that matter, but people need to find comfort in different ways. That's cool. All that matters is that the May-August Cubs mean something in terms of the September-October Cubs.
  17. A while back, there was this thing that the Cubs used to do when they'd score more runs than the other team. Now granted, this was a while ago, and I cant remember what it was called. There was even a little song that everyone used to sing after they did it. It made people very happy. Now I don't know if they plan on doing it again any time soon, but if they can manage to do it some more, it could very much help their case for the post season. Just...whats that word...its on the tip of my tongue...ah forget it.
  18. Ive thought that for a while, however, the White Sox as an organization dont have that weird history of collpasing down the stretch. Yes, Im well aware that what happened in 1969 and 2004 has no bearing over 2008, but its still an eerie cloud that looms above.
  19. Lilly Arroyo Sounds like the newest latin pop sensation.
  20. Its a good thing they took away Pat Listaches star player so he can rot away at the end of the bench.
  21. Lilly/Arroyo Just make sure you put Losers in the thread title.
  22. WAS holds on. 9-7 So, 14 still for WC, or now 13? One less than whatever it was before today. Either way, the Losers still have to win games, and they dont seem to have any intention of doing that.
  23. This garbage is very reminiscant of the post all star game funk, and they got out of that one, so we'll what happens.
