  1. The jist is that Soto said last time he felt it, it lasted a week and go away, and Lou said he couldnt go a full week with only 1 catcher, so hed have to DL him. Then again, we weant almost 3 1/2 years with Michael Barrett behind the plate, so could Miles, Fontenot, or Theriot really be any worse?
  2. Geovany Soto-C- Cubs Apr. 9 - 10:24 am et According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the Cubs are bracing for the possibility that Geovany Soto (shoulder) could land on the disabled list. Soto had a similar shoulder issue while he was in Triple-A, and it cost him a little over a week. ''From talking to him, it lasted a week or so [the first time],'' manager Lou Piniella said. ''Let's hope it doesn't. If it's going to be that long, I'm not so sure we can stay with one catcher.'' Koyie Hill filled in Wednesday and Mark Johnson is just a phone call away. Source: Chicago Sun-Times Related: Koyie Hill Im surpirsed that this thread has been started yet. I know were all hoping for the best, but there is a chance that Geo could be headed for a DL stint, be it a short one. If he is, do we really want a catching tandem of Koyie Hill, who looked flat out lost at the plate and 57 year old journeyman catcher Mark Johnson, or is there any chance that theyd bring up Jake Fox. I knoe that his catching skills are sub-sub par at best, but would his offense be worth it? If Geo were put on the 15 day, retroactive to yesterday, it would only be 10 or 11 games were talking about, with Fox maybe catching 2 of them. How much damage could he really do in 2 games?
  3. Gathright looks terrified. I cant tell if hes celebrating with them or trying to get away.
  4. The bolded part has me intrigued. Was this a major leaguer? I cant imagine a pitcher just coming off a game would have a minor leaguer with him, but I guess its possible.
  5. If the Cards can take care of the Pirates today, we'll FINALLY have sole posession of 1st for the 1st time this season. Go Cards!
  6. If we had Wieters, hopefully we would have traded D. Lee for another pitcher. Can Wieters play 1B?
  7. I know this should be in transactions, but I just edited over the previous Gaudin post to avoid a new thread for no good reason. Petco will be a much bette homw for him than Coors.
  8. You beat me to it. Stupid. Why pull the superior defender when you could move him to his natural position? Reporters asked Lou that the other night. He said Milton is a good outfielder and he won't be replacing him for defense. After some of the mistakes Fukudome made in CF towards the end of spring. I think Lou is little nervous about Fukudome defense in CF. But if he starts to do well I'm sure Lou will keep him in there. Plus I cant see Lou rewarding Gathright in any way, shape, or form forn his horrid at bat.
  9. Another good game that was never anywhere near as close as it felt.
  10. Wow, those pitching matchups for the Brewers series sound pretty one sided. Harden v. Looper, Z v Bush Demp v Suppan
  11. Their children shall be belligerent and numerous. their divorce will simply be belligerent. get a pre-nup dude, so you can keep the double wide. Cant wait for their reception at the OCB
  12. Whats gotten into Kosuke? If he can keep this up, it will be huge.
  13. Nice debut for Patton. Hopefully we can go Guzman to Marmol, but I full expect to see Vizcaino.
  14. No reason for Sori not to cross the plate this inning.
  15. El Caballo had no interest in that ball whatsoever.
  16. Yao Ming just homered to center. Warren Moon just homered to left. Hakeem Olojuwon and George H. Bush go back to back. Here comes Vernon Maxwell to the plate. GONE
  17. Considering Vizcainos iminent debut, Id like to see 5 plated here.
