  1. Im not going to say I disagree with Milton, but maybe if he stopped whining and started hitting the bloody ball, it would shut them up.
  2. No, it's boo hoo, he absolutely sucks and should not be on this team. he's a perfectly acceptable backup middle infielder. He's just not Derosa. or Ronny Cedeno. or Rey Ordonez
  3. Please win, or at least try, or at least make it look like your trying.
  4. Soriano is a perfectly capabale leadoff hitter, nobodys denying that. However, lack of production at the heart of the lineup is a big problem, and if moving Soriano to the center of the lineup could potentially fix that problem. With guys like Fontenot, Soto, Bradley and Lee, they'll just have to work themselves out of their little funks, and theres nothing Lou can do to fix that, but if he can add a productive power bat where its needed most, that should be at the top of your to do list. So then lack of production from the beginning of the lineup can be a problem. If Theriot and Fukudome keep doing what theyve been doing so far, than it wont be.

  6. Or maybe the guy who signed the person when everyone knew he was worthless.
  7. Beacuase all and all, hes the best hitter on the team and is capable of producing a lot more runs down the lineup. While I agree Sori should be moved down in the order, I think its pretty obvious ARam is our best overall hitter. Soriano and Ramirez would be a feared 3-4 combo.
  8. Is Tony Thomas for real? We could use a second baseman who can hit. Obviously hes only 2 years into his pro career, so we'll probably have to wait at least 2 more years before he gets his chance. Blake Lalli seems to be doing very well for himself, but I wouldnt put too much stock in a 26 year old whose never been past AA. Ive been a fan of Rebel Ridling and Marquez Smith since last year, but we'll see what the future holds for them. Jeff Stevens may be close to the big show too, especially if our current relievers keep pissing off Lou. Justin Wadells another one, especially if he keeps doing what hes doing and Cotts keeps doing what hes doing. Then theres the usual rank and file of Mitch Atkins, Kevin Hart, Randy Wells, J.R. Mathes et all. None of them are getting any younger(I guess Atkins is still pretty young), and the best thing for any of these guys may be a trade.
  9. I dont know about the whole repeat 24 hour nut kicking. It would get quite tiresome after the first minute or so. However, I would be all for replacing both with better players.
  10. Beacuase all and all, hes the best hitter on the team and is capable of producing a lot more runs down the lineup.
  11. Let's see if Lou puts up with his current lack of production much longer. If not, then I wonder if something more drastic like Theriot/leadoff & Soriano/3rd would become an option. I'm for moving Lee down. I don't see what the big deal has been, and don't see what it is now. Its not even the lack of production that bothers me. every team goes through this a few times per season. they'll pick it up. Its just the fact that Lou isnt maximizing his resources. For a guy with a reputation of being a hard nosed manager, he sure gives his players a lot of leeway, especially when it coems to the vets. Lee has no business in the 3 spot where your best hitter should be. Soriano is capable of 100+ RBI and should be in an RBI spot. I know everyone loves when he takes the first pitch out of the park, but Id rather a few guys be on base for him. Even if everyone one the team was prodicing, wed score more runs if the lineup were stacked that way.
  12. I really dont think that our offense sucks, as I doubt anyone here does even though they might be saying that now. However, it is not being used to its maximum potential. Ryan Theriot is a singles a doubles guy who takes walks. he has a lot to learm when it comes to base running, but still. he should be at leadoff. Kosuke can hit for contact and power and take a walk as well. Theres your number 2 Soriano is the best pure hitter on the team, number 3 Aramis is the RBI machine. thats traditionally cleanup Reed Johnson and Milton Bradley are both solid hitters, number 5 type guys D Lee is in a funk. hes not hitting. Im sure he'll pick up, but his best years are behind him. A lot of managers would love to have him in the 6 spot. Soto and Fontenot are 2 guys we were counting on, but have given us squat. they're the 7 and 8 guys. Hopefully they'll start hitting. When they do, and everyone picks up, we'll be the best all around offense in the division, one of the best in the game. We may not have a Pujols or a Man Ram, but if all our guys can do what they did last year, we'l be solid 1-8 with no easy outs.
  13. I dont know about the rest of you, but Im pretty psyched about getting Steven Strasburg.
  14. It seems like Lou likes to tinker with every part of the lineup aside from the parts that need to be. Getting Soriano into the heart of the order and getting Lee out of the heart.
  15. Tony Thomas 3-4 with a HR and a 2B. Jeff Stevens stays perfect for Iowa
  16. Great, now they'll dig up someone else who will be even better. I guarantee, Paul Byrd or Pedro Martinez become the latest pixy dust recipient.
  17. Theriot Fukudome Soriano Ramirez Johnson/Bradley Lee Soto Fontenot Pitcher That is all.
  18. Being a Cubs GM may well be the easiest job on earth A. You have a ton of money at your disposal, at least you did until now B. Practicaly every top free agent wants to be a Cub every year Most of what Hendry has done have been no brainers. Sure, the Aramis and harden trades, as well as the Nomar, although it didnt work out in the end were magical when they happened. Kudos on being there when other teams were salary dumping. However, everything else hes done has basically been throwing money at guys who wanted to stay or join the team.
  19. What happened? Hoff botched a couple plays in RF today, and during the postgame Lou said Hoff will no longer play RF when Bradley is out of the lineup. Hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more of him at his natural position.
  20. Is there a limit on the number of players that can be sent to AAA at once? If Iowa doesn have space, Im sure a lot of these guys would fit right in at Tenessee, Boise, or Peoria.
  21. They really need to bench the guy. When he was the star of the show, U understood letting him have his say, but now hes doing nothing in the heart of the lineup. The man needs some time off.
  22. That team had some talent though. Pujols, Edmonds, Rolen, Renteria, Walker. This one is being held up by Chris Dunca, Brian Barden, Yadier Molina, etc. This one can't keep that pace up. Pujols, Ludwick, and Ankiel are a damn good foundation. When Try Glaus comes back, that solidifies it. We'll have to see what Barden and Duncan end up doing.
  23. LETS GET SOME RUNS!!! or not. probably not. it would be nice though.
