  1. The fact is, we knew that when Miles came back, 1 of Scles or Fox would be gone. When Freel returns, the other will be gone. We dont know exactly when Freels back, but if hes back after the 13th, then Fox wont be able to be broguth up for that first game in Detroit, so it kind of makes sense. This way, they make sure that Fox is eligible to be called back up by that time. Or maybe it could just be a stupid move. Either way.
  2. Im sure its a lot more Lou than Hendry on this.
  3. The only way the White Sox are going to trade is to upgrade, in which case they'll want more than wed be willing to give them or throw up the white flag, in which case they'll be moving guys like Dye and Thome rather than Fields.
  4. Jacque Jones, who was actually decent for us was traded for a bag of chips with a year left on his deal.
  5. River City Ransom. What a great game that was. I remeber when playing 2 player, you could use you're partner as a weapon.
  6. Luis Rivas is off the DL, so theres your other middle infielder. I really think the move is just to get Fox more ABs before interleague.
  7. I didnt realise we were 1 pick off on Markakis. Cubs seem to do that a lot in the draft.
  8. I dont know why the Astros keep sitting rookie phenom Eric Anthony. Has anyone beaten Wandy at home yet? Its good to see Font heating up, and a good game by Soto, but without Ramirez, this team isnt going to start consistantly scoring until Soriano and Bradley get going. As I said before, it could be time to move Sori out of leadoff again, not to 3rd, but to 6th and go with something like Theriot Fontenot Fuku Lee Bradley Sori Soto Blanco/Miles/whatever P It could be good for Bradley to be hitting between Lee and Soriano.
  9. yeah, this is what i don't get. with interleague coming up, Fox was the obvious choice to stay and at least DH against LHP next week. Scales is worthless at this point, but my guess is they chose to keep him because he can play 3B (while they believe Fox can't). eta: wait, Miles can play 3B too. i shouldn't post before I drink my coffee. In all honesty, I think that interleague is the main reason Fox is going down. Right now, he wont get many at bats with the big league club. They'll want him ready for interleague, so they're sending him down to get more playing time in Iowa. Hopefully, they'll also give him some time at 3B, and he can knock around AAA pitching some more so hes nice and hot when it comes time to go.
  10. Waddel will be sent down, but just to keep it interesting, they'll also send down Hoff and bring up So Taguchi.
  11. Adding more lemony goodness to the bench. Bobby Scales lives another day.
  12. I love when that happens, not so much to the Sox, but to Hawk. If the Sox end up losing, you know he'll rant for weeks about that call at home plate.
  13. He's been booed there already. You seriously think he or anyone else on this team is likely to do anything like singlehandedly leave 10 guys on base again? He's not too likely to have too many 0-6 games, especially ones where that happens. Cubs fans are very fickel creatures. All he has to do is step it up, and he'll be loved. If he doesnt, his time as a Cub will end very bitter. I still dont know why Jacque Jones is remembered as such an awful signing.he was very good in 2006, 1 of his better seasons. People just assumed that hed be able to do a lot better in Wrigley than he did in the Metrodome, and he ended up pretty much duplicating his better seasons as a Twin in '06.
  14. I forgot, no bad mouthing players, not on Mojos watch. There's bad-mouthing players and then there's just being [expletive] about it. Im just saying, Cubs fans were called racist for boing Hawkins and Jacuq out of town, but Ive seen a lot of white players booed equally. Were we anti semitic for boing Jason Marquis? Were we anti canadian for booing Dempster when he was blowing saves? Why don't we slow down and wait until anyone else is actually "booed out of town?" If he keeps it up, hes going to get booed at Wrigley, plain and simple. In game like tonights, not so much, but if theres a game when were down, and Miton, or anyone for that matter leaves 10 guys on, they're going to get booed in any home field. Probably not out of town, but you know his history, and hes not going to take it well. Remember, Jacque Jones was pretty solid for us all and all, and you know how his time as a Cub is remembered.
  15. Just tuned in there in time for Paul Konerko to hit a game tying double. I thought, and hoped Hawks head was going to explode.

  18. Milton misses time on routine base running plays, but ends up in 1 piece after that. go figure.
  19. So is Milton going to come back to Wrigley and get bood out of town, and we'll be called racists because we hate bad black players as much as we hate bad white players?
  20. Teds currently wondering if Backes head would make a good christmas tree ornament.
  21. Andy Whites finally figuring out how to use a baseball bat.
  22. At least hes showing some fire. Im surprised he didnt break his wrist though.
  23. Now would be as good a time as any for Milton to do something.
  24. The difference is that Randy Wells is less likely to tie the relievers up in his basement and wear their skin as a diferent suit for each day of the week.
  25. I going to say thaa Fox is sent to Iowa, but mainly so he can get some playing time so they can bring him back in time for the away interleague games.
