  1. Wow, I expect nothing less than a high football score or low basketball score by the end of this game.
  2. Whew My guess is he could have played, but when you have an ace caliber pitcher on the mound vs. a bad pitcher and a weak offense, why not give him s break.
  3. All in the same deal? Attaboy Jim. 5 team deal. Royals get Aaron Miles Yankees get Micah Hoffpauir, Wellington Castillo, Phillies prospects Phillies get Sam Fuld, Justin Berg, Robinson Chrinos Brewers get JR Mathes, Bobby Scales, Yankees prospects Cubs ge Greinke, A Rod, Utley, and Hoffman+cash
  4. Len and Bob said Dempster is supposed to be back on Tuesday so no. It sounds like Hart will stay in. Gotcha. And also shocked the crap that Matt Lawton brought us actually made it to the bigs. Great K:BB ratio  Just as awesome that Freddy Bynum brought us Kevin Hart. Hart has 2 wins as a starter this season. If he never pitches again, weve already gotten more value than Bynum will ever be worth.
  5. Berg is already on the 40 man roster so he has already used his option for this year. If Parker had been put on the 40 man roster, he would have used his first option when he was sent down in two weeks. If they wait until September or later to add him, he'll still have all 3 options next year. I expect he'll be sent back down in 4 days, not 2 weeks. He'll probably go back down when Dempster is activated on Wednesday. If he is given a chance and impresses, any chance theyd send down Shark instead to work as a starter?
  6. Oh, the hurt. :D It is a little funny and ironic to see Stoney being extremely sensitive to someone questioning his initial report. Awful touchy. In Stoneys defense, if you had to spend 3 hours a day crammed in a booth with Hawk Harrelson, youd be pretty irritable too.
  7. I dont know about Davis.mThe Brewers really needed him, and the D Backs rejected there offer, and we could use him, but certainly dont have the need, so I wouldnt want to give up too much for him.
  8. the problem is two fold, though, as not only is Hill the every day catcher, but Lou won't play Fox anymore since he's the back up. so not only do we have the crap sandwich in the lineup, but one of our best power bats is stuck on the pine I suppose a solution would be to at least give Fox a chance behind the plate and see how it works out and put Hill i late in the game when necessary.
  9. The Tigers already have a bad contract in Magglio Ordonez that they want to unload, so why would they want another?
  10. We all knew once our offense got going and the pitching kept strong, wed win a lot of games. Lets see if it can last.
  11. Hills in a crappy situation. Hes no better or worse than your average backup catcher, and all of the sudden, since Sotos injured theyre forced to use hi every day, and now if their forced to trade for another catcher, Koyie could end up losing his job because of it.
  12. Id take Duke, Snell, or Maholm, but if anything, wed end up with Gorzalanny, and Id rather take my chances with Hart.
  13. Definitely if we come with the Cardinals bullpen.
  14. If the Jays are demanding a top young pitcher plus 2 top pitching prospects, they aint moving the Doc.
  15. I guess when you have 2 teams with strong offenses and bad bulpens, this should be expected.
  16. With 2 out, this inning has become a nightmare for Motte, and Im lovin it.
  17. I was listening to the Cubs post game show, and apparently Dombrowski stated something like our club does not have a place for Milton Bradley.
  18. Maybe if we make Aaron Miles a cool web site other teams will want him too.
  19. We lead the loss column.. IMHO were a better team than the Giants and Rockies, and we can take the Card. The of course theres the matter of playing the Phillies or Dodgers, but we'll see. I agree but I'm sure not conceding the division yet. I'm not entirely convinced that this year will be different than 2007 for the NL Central. I'd say that if the Cubs win enough games to overtake the Giants and Rockies in the wild card, they'll probably be in first place in the Central anyway, making the wild card a moot point. Im not taking anything away from the Cubs, but I am going to say the Cardinals are really good with this new lineup. They have a lot of options. Of course pitching is huge factor. Joel Pineiro and Ryan Franklin should not be this dominant. Kyle Lohse is your run of the mill number 4 starter, but the really dont have a #5. And of course the biggest factor is Soriano, Bradley, and Soto when he returns. That really levels the field is they can get it together. Hopefully one of them will go late 2007 Jacque Jones for us.
  20. I really dont like Hart vs. Cueto, but I guess we'll see what happens. Aside from Votto and Phillips these guys arent much better than the guys Hart shut down in Iowa.
  21. Ill give it 1 more bad start before the Jay Jackson is broken talk.
  22. Josh Harrisons really getting it going at Daytona and Vitters seem to be starting ro figure things out as well. Blake Parker with a rar bad outing but Gaub was great a usual strikig out 3 through 1.2 IP And Aaron Miles was 2-4 with a double, so surely he'll be up soon despite the fact that Baker and Blanco are both better players than he is. Has BJ Ryan so much as take the mound for AZL yet?
  23. We lead the loss column.. IMHO were a better team than the Giants and Rockies, and we can take the Card. The of course theres the matter of playing the Phillies or Dodgers, but we'll see. I agree but I'm sure not conceding the division yet. As cliche as it sounds, Soriano and/or Bradley getting their acts together would be as good as any trade, but its just not happeneing, not on a consistant basis.
  24. I think were going to have to get used to this from the Cardinals for the remainder of the season. Their lineup is just too damn good.
