  1. Weren't the off field issues after he was essentially dumped? I think he enjoyed visiting Rush Street after games a bit much according to some.
  2. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/soccer/01/19/kaka.milan.ap/index.html kaka is staying at milan.
  3. i student taught at east peoria high school if that counts for anything.
  4. For those of us who were hopefully of the bears signing julius peppers, you can forget it. Peppers' Agent, Carl Carey: Obviously, there is no way the Bears switch to a 3-4, so they'll have to look DE elsewhere.
  5. **** me. That's the most insane thing I've ever seen in my entire life. He's not even that good. WHAT? It's the sun, so I'm going to act like it's not true for now. Stupid Sheiks and their [expletive] oil money. the sun sucks, but the transfer is being reported everywhere. i think the transfer amount will be much lower than the sun is reporting.
  6. I don't see anything. I see a guy who is being honest about a disagreement and logically & calmly explaining the basis of that disagreement. He also mentioned he wishes Sanchez well. There's nothing here worth noting, in my view. Have you ever heard a coach say anything like that before? Out of respect to your player you're supposed to say "he's a great kid, he did a great job here, we're obviously going to miss him, I wish the best for him." You don't go on and on about the success rates of quarterbacks and why you think he's making a mistake. That not only made him look like an ass, but it could also make potential QB recruits think twice about going to USC. also, i wonder if this does anything to carroll's reputation as coach who gets players prepared to play in the nfl. he's undercutting one of his highest profile players in a really embarrassing fashion.

There's nothing here worth noting, in my view. i don't think that's the proper time and place to express your disagreement with his decision. not to mention saying that guys who come out early fail more often than not. that's my thoughts as well. clearly he's pissed, but that press conference should be more about mark sanchez not the disgruntled coach who disagrees with the decision. i'm also curious to know what carroll found out by talking to nfl people that was ignored by sanchez in making this decision. most of the draft stuff i've read has sanchez as a top 3 quarterback, regardless if he's leaving school early.
  8. i'm still pulling for the guy. :(
  9. there will be plenty of negative meatball reaction to marinelli's hiring because of his time in detroit, but i this is a solid move by the organizatoin. he's somebody who has coached fantastic d-linemen, both interior and ends, in tampa bay. hopefully he can help tommie harris return to form.
  10. an article about pohlad's tactics and impact on the twins from espn
  11. I doubt he falls to the 3rd. the impressive thing about Greene is he started the season still very much out of shape. I can see him being anywhere between a mid-1st and mid-2nd round selection with a good showing at the combine. is it a good thing that he was out of shape? i'd prefer a running back that worked hard in the off season and came into camp ready to be good. I'm not saying it was a good or bad thing. he wasn't at the university and didn't have access to their training equipment or personnel. he was going to school and working a lot just trying to pay his bills and get back to Iowa. gotcha, i forgot about him being out of school.

  13. The Post actually has a book out of all their "best" headlines over the years
  14. Last game as a Bear? I would think so. He's a free agent. He can't be counted on. He only made it to week 16 because the Bears scheme took it easy on him early in the year. He's too similar to Payne, who is younger. He can still play though. I'd like to see him hook up with Singletary in SF. Brad Biggs wrote a swansong type piece in today's Sun-Times. He pointed out it took some arm twisting by the coaching staff last spring to convince Angelo to bring Brown back this year. The article also had numerous high praise statements about Brown from coaches, former coaches, and teammates from both sides of the ball. So, yes, I'd say he's done as a Bear. I'll miss him, he was one of my favorite players, despite the crushing, seemingly never ending series of injuries the past few seasons.
  15. I like him, but I get the feeling the Bears will over-pay him and he'll have a subsequent dropoff with this team. signing him reminds me of the muhammed signing a few years ago. a wide receiver on the down side of his career, heading to a poor offense.
  16. That's cool. I've actually been to a match at Nevada Smith's, #1 on their list. Pretty neat experience.
  17. or jesus is answering my prayers if that's true, then why isn't color me badd back together yet lulz. i want to sex you up.
  18. there's a lot going on with this post, but this is probably my favorite part. MARK PRIOR'S CALVES 4 EVA!!!

  21. st. clair better finally be benched next week. i think lovie and company were trying to keep the continuity of the o-line together by allowing st. clair to keep playing even while williams has been healthy. now that st. clair has shown he's a total liability, williams needs to start and play every down the rest of the way.
  22. how the eff did the chargers call a timeout with a full play clock on 4th down as they were set on kicking a game tying field goal? it gave manning 40 more seconds than he should have. its inexcusable.
  23. that jerk tony romo is out for publicity again
  24. i like jake peavy in scooby-doo.
