  1. Dear god what have you done...you realize many on this forum would rather listen to the entire horsefeathers ass RHCP discography than listen to a minute of Scully? OMC likes anyone who killed a dozen injuns durin' the French-Indian War derwood take a lot of heat in these parts but when he makes a funny he makes it a doozy
  2. pretty easy for me to pull for nashville
  3. Is it really that much of an affront to move him out of the leadoff spot? It's not like they've forced him into being a roadie for the red hot chili peppers
  4. Am I correct in assuming that you're new SXM? Because that's been their MO with all of their "single artist/band" channels since forever; a ton of songs by the titular artist/band/band members/spinoffs, plus a bunch of covers of that band's music, or other acts that directly inspired or were inspired by them. Yup. The Tom Petty channel seems to largely be stuff Tom Petty liked. Pearl Jam played a bunch of last summer's concerts the next day, which was pretty cool. But it's a bunch of other stuff most of the time. But the dead channel is always the dead, at least whenever I throw it on. They have the jam band channel right next door for all the "similar" acts.
  5. So I learned how to spell Samardzija's name kind of early but still mess up Arrieta (Arietta, Arrietta) quite regularly. Wood only pitched 2 innings in the NLCS last year. Arrieta had 1 start and lost. This matchup did once result in an Arrieta no hitter, which was nice. http://mlb.mlb.com/images/4/5/4/146415454/083015_chc_arrieta_9th_inn_ks_med_nmvfecq1.gif Which led to this Now it's on to Anchorman theme
  6. like a honeymooner who married the world's most beautiful, and rich, woman. DGAF if she woke up a little worse for wear after last night's late night party down session Okay honey, I think it's time to get out of bed and take a shower. You should probably put on something other than sweats today and maybe check in with the office. Sorry for sounding cliche but the honeymoon is literally over.
  7. This is weird why? The Bears are short of bodies on offense. They don't have a legit WR core and they signed a veteran who has been good most of the time to a 1-year deal. That's normal NFL team behavior.
  8. at this point i'd trust meredith to possibly resemble a 1 more than i would white. That's true...I forgot he was actually pretty decent the 2nd half of last year when no one was paying attention. I still think White has the highest ceiling for a #1. He's only played 4 NFL games, so hopefully he can stay on the field and show us something. I'm not sure he still has that ceiling. You don't miss that much time to multiple injuries without it actually knocking down a significant portion of your ability.
  9. Absolutely. You have to give Glennon something in his one and only year.
  10. A) Montero has had some good swings of late and Contreras is on pace for 108 starts behind the plate plus another couple dozen appearances, so give him rest while you can before the summer gets into full swing. B) He could be a little banged up. He did mention he was sore after that marathon game earlier this month. Those make sense, but why start Montero in consecutive games(night then day) with one against a LHP to do it? If he's banged up why did they double switch him into the game to get 2 plate appearances? I'm not arguing that Contreras should play more, I just don't understand the rationale for the last couple days. If it's planned then you can plan better than that, and if Contreras is banged up then don't double switch him into catch the 8th and 9th and get a 2nd PA. Well, I don't think it's wise to only allow your LH to bat against RHP, because at some point he's going to have to face LHP and it shouldn't be the first time in months. Joe enjoys giving guys 2 days rest, not just one. Montero himself is often banged up, so maybe he let Joe know he feels about as healthy as he has in a long time right now. Play him while you can. Also, switching him in makes perfect sense last night, especially when you know Montero is starting today.

  12. I remember how proud I was when I learned to consistently spell Samardzija's name correctly. That was about the highlight of his time with the Cubs for me. Other people held him in much higher esteem. http://68.media.tumblr.com/ae7a670c6fcc8192b5ae1e2b89075d85/tumblr_nve8nsdN2x1uhfs3jo1_500.jpg http://doubtingtheo.tumblr.com/tagged/Vlahos http://mlb.mlb.com/images/8/6/6/199060866/090116_cubs_ross_running_med_uundzp9o.gif
  13. if it was an everyday thing, sure. i'm not quite sure why people freak out over a lineup like this from time to time.
  14. Huh, I presumed it was multiple people running that account. it'd be pretty amazing if they needed multiple people to run social media accounts. what a boondoggle for social media marketing degrees
  15. Total tangent, but some of the team abbreviations in there are bizarre. I've never seen the Cardinals as SLN before. gotta differentiate with the American League ball club in San Luis Obisbo
  16. tell him @nsbbcom said hi
  17. Lester and the dongs did it last night. Last fall Hendricks didn't last through the 4th but the Cubs won his start against the Giants, while Moore went a full 8 giving up only 1 ER and the Giants glorious bullpen failed to close it out. Which gave rise to whatever Schwarber was stroking here. I feel like these memories are relevant.
