  1. Pie and a plethora of young pitchers would do it imo. he moves like molasses...where do we put him? in RF? i am not totally against it, but if he comes here i sure hope a change of scenery wakes him up and motivates him to take care of his body... when i was at the marlins v. cubs game this year...i was appalled at how lazy he seemed on the field...barely trying to go after balls...just a very strange body language from a professional athlete... who knows that...maybe that is just miggy being miggy
  2. It may be speculation and I think ARod would be crazy to not include the Sox due to their nicely filled wallets. yes, everything is speculation right now i suppose...but goodness...that team is going to be just plain [expletive] scary if a-rod is stationed at the hot corner come spring...dice-k is most likely going to have a terrific season...the only real question mark with boston right now is the back end of their rotation...
  3. how about we throw cedeno out at short stop next season instead of theriot? i would be willing to bet good money that cedeno would outperform theriot...plus he is a better defender... oh well...i just am a little sad that it looks like theriot is going to be the starting SS in 08
  4. I'd be shocked to see it be a straight 1-1 player trade. right, but what else could a package be from the padres that would warrant this? if pie is gone...then we are hanging on to jones...who is a wild-card IMO... is there a package in their organization that would actually be beneficial to the product most of us fans want to see take the field next season?...ie...one that doesn't bend over in the NLDS?
  5. i was reading on yahoo that A-Rod's number one choice could be boston... does that really infuriate anyone else? hello new yankees
  6. how many at bats has pie had? a little over 100 right? do you all really want to not see if pie can become something special or at least a significant upgrade at center? to me, pie for greene is completely mind-numbing... i wouldn't let pie go this offseason unless it was for something that couldn't be passed up...i don't even know what that is...but jeez...greene?!?
  7. thanks for signing marquis hendry it helps in our quest for arod blah
  8. for my money i say... 1. Dodgers - reunited with Torre 2. Giants - why the hell not...boras gets things done in SF 3. Angels - they got the pockets I really don't think he is coming to the cubs the cubs will win the world series in 2012, right before the world ends...a fitting ending
  9. I counted 16, perhaps you thought of the other A-gon. Doesn't really matter though :) Point is, none of these guys should be Cubs by opening day. :crosses fingers: I actually wouldn't be against Kendall as the backup if the price was right. yeah, but what do we do with blanco?
  10. you got to think that with the free agent pool of pitchers...it has to be at least reasonably possible to move marquis this offseason... i mean christ, look at lohse... some fool would take a chance on marquis
  11. lol? seriously? gammons said that? idiot
  12. if the angels really wanted him they could get him...so could the rangers... i believe we are all living in pipe dream world with these bedard and a-rod sweepstakes wishes
  13. it will be sad if prior goes somewhere else...but if he does, i just pray that it is to the AL *cough* rays *cough*
  14. It's possible the Yankees might not have made the playoffs without A-Rod this year. However, 7 other teams did make the playoffs without A-Rod. It doesn't require that you have a 30m player on your roster to make the playoffs. If the Yankees lost A-Rod this offseason, and they went out and spent 30m on pitching (and not just part time players like Clemens), I think they could get back to the playoffs without A-Rod. this is a valid point my man... yeah, the more i think about it...i just hope we keep building without a-rod...way too much money that we could be spending else where a-rod is not single-handedly going to bring up a trophy
  15. in theory, that sounds lovely i miss the cubs...4 straight loses to end the season are still hurting
  16. i thought it was ridiculous when i heard about it months ago it is bad enough that the allstar game decides homefield advantage in the world series scott boras should retire
  17. sweet...2008 is looking better already
  18. all i know is that if pie is packaged...god forbid...it better be for someone very choice...and someone coming from the AL... if pie is traded within the division i will eat rocks
  19. oh good lord...i hope not...isn't the post pretty much crap on extremely dry ice?
  20. man, torre is such a class act... if he manages again...whoever gets him will be lucky oh, i am watching the press conference right now...just a great guy
  21. manny doesn't know outs and scores
