    I thought aol was an early 90s thing, I'm bad with dates I guess, the 90s are kinda a blur at this point. I do remember the if Zambrano starts thread lol, my mind probably just lumps all of my Cubs message board experiences into nsbb since I've been here and only here for so long.

    There was a purge? site got hacked and basically everything like pre-2005 or so was lost, including tree's awesome nomar trade ms paint O yeah, I remember that. *sigh*BTW I thought these boards had also been around a lot longer than 2003. Seems lik much longer than that, I'm pretty sure there were conversations here durning 98 and even 93 ... Maybe I'm losing my mind, quite possible were you at espn, or cubs.com? In the mid 90s I was probably at both, I may have followed people here from somewhere else, man my memory sucks

    Soler has better pitch recognition than any of our other prospects. I think his ability to take walks and wait for his pitch his the best thing about him.

    Well FIP makes Edwin Jackson look slightly less bad, Arrieta's FIP almost the same as his era, it's an interesting stat to compare to era.

    Wow Chris Young is 90th and his baseball card stats are solid. Can someone explain FIP to an old man? I know nothing about it Basically, it takes HRs, BBs and Ks and converts them into something that looks like ERA. It's actually better at predicting ERA than actual ERA is, so the assumption is that it represents a "luck and defense removed" ERA. So what is considered bad/mediocre/average/above average/excellent FIP if you had to give a range? I'm lost on a lot of the newer stats. *** edit It's just an adjusted era it looks like, so it can be looked at a lot like era I guess

    I highly doubt Soler will be in there tonight considering he played the whole game last night and the move was announced late and it's a day game. Could be wrong though. It's a day game, actually should be playing right now. Iowa manager said Olt is driving in and he and Soler not expected to be available till tomorrow. You have many Addison Russell at bats to look forward to this evening though.
