  1. The zone is incredibly big today, but the home plate ump has called it for both sides (seeing as both Lilly and Lohse both have double digit K's). So the Cubs hitters who are protesting the calls, are showing signs of desparation.
  2. Not against crappy pitching. Why you even ask?
  3. Cause we had no outs and 3,4,5 coming up. it was dumb. Soriano is fast enough to score Freel had the ball by the time Soriano made it to third. If the throw home was close, Soriano is out by at least 10 feet. Freel was conceeding the run--trying to keep Theriot at 1B by throwing into 2B. The reason why Freel didn't throw home (and I have TiVO'd right now) is that he saw Soriano being held at 3rd. So why throw the ball home when you don't have to? So you are partially right, he didn't throw home, because he wanted to keep Theriot at first, but he also didn't throw home, because he Soriano pulling up at third.
  4. Tell me about it....got men on first and 3rd, and couldn't score off Kyle "FRIGGIN" Lohse. I think Gerald Perry is an alias of either Gary Matthews, Jr, or whoever the BC was last yr.
  5. Cause we had no outs and 3,4,5 coming up. it was dumb. Soriano is fast enough to score The rule of thumb that 3rd base coaches uses is this: If the ball gets to the OFer (in this case the CFer) before the runner even gets to third you hold the runner up. In this case Soriano was a good 3 steps away from 3rd when the ball got to Freel. Holding Soriano up there was the good call.
  6. No more risker then say AJ Burnett, Jason Jennings, or even Dontrelle Willis. I think Z is overthrowing, because he is trying to prove his worth for his new contract. IMO.
  7. I was being sarcastic. Even tho I like E. Santana, I know he isn't in Felix's class, just like Felix isn't in Johan Santana's class.
  8. Off days following a 2 game sweep on your opening home series, blows...big time.
  9. Come on now. Santana has obliterated the league for three years running. You think that the torch is passed after two starts? As great as he is, he's got a long way to go. Consistency is everything. And don't get me wrong: I recognize this kid's potential... but... Also: he will have the arm troubles of Kerry Wood if they continue to tax his 21-year-old arm with 100 pitches every fifth day... I agree with you KyHen. When Felix Hernandez can win multiple Cy Young Awards (which he does have the ability to do) like Santana (and I presume Santana will win it again this yr) nobody can make a case of Felix Hernandez passing Johan Santana. NOBODY. Now if people are talking about Hernandez passing Erwin Santana (who's is nice young stud in the making) I could agree with that statement, but Johan....NOPE...Felix HAS A LONG WAYS TO GO before he surpasses Johan. And from a fantasy standpoint: Who would you rather pick in the first rd of the draft; Johan Santana or Felix Hernandez?
  10. I never understood why so many people underestimate Big Z. I understand the man love for Felix Hernandez, I really do, but IMO he does not have the "3 times the talent" over Z. The ONLY thing that keeps Z from being a TRUE ELITE pitcher is his control, and once that part of his pitching "clicks" on, he would join Johan Santana, as the only pitchers you would "give up the farm" to acquire. Yes I am showing abit of homerism towards Z, but Z has as good of stuff as Felix Hernandez or any pitcher in baseball, without playing in a BIG pitcher's park. But I do wish he had better control.
  11. No they are not. It will be a tough test. The Bears D will be fully healthy with Harris and Brown. So while I do think the Chargers will beat the Bears, but I doubt the Chargers "are going to crush the Bears" as you think. I'm thinking a 7 point differential. Isn't Brown's contract up? I wonder if he will be resigned? Even if it was....both Lovie and Angelos knows how important of a leader Mike Brown is to the team. So Mike would be back regardless.

  13. Ahahahahhaa When the teams made the trade, they were both lower seeded playoff caliber teams. Two years later: Who's the 2 seed and who's the lottery pick? Ok, bye. I know, I don't like the fact that he is trying to sell Curry onto the Knicks fans, when in reality Eddy Curry is still an average player (in terms of overall production.) For a player of his size and "talent" Curry should be averaging 25 and 10, at least. Nonetheless, I much rather have Thomas and whoever the Bulls draft in 07 (whether it is either Oden/Durant or Hawes/Hibbert/Noah) over Curry.
  14. I really hope Lou either has ripped, or will ripped into his team today. This is absolutley no way you should be swept---even in a shorten series---in your first home series of the yr. I hope Lou has them ready to kick the reads butts on Friday.
  15. It would be hard to argue that. Durant game is ill, don't get me wrong, but he isn't exactly a NEED, he would be a luxury.....a VERY TALENTED luxury, but Oden fits the Bulls better. With that said, I doubt the Bulls will end up with either the 1 or 2 pick, so the debate of KD and GO is moot for the Bulls.
  16. I think Durant could top that next season. As a 19 year old. Deng's best years will be in the 23 and 7 range. Durant's will be in the 33 and 9 range. Deng is a very good role player, but he isn't a game changer that necessitates a double team. Durant can be that guy who does everything Deng does, but better in addition to driving the lane and drawing 10-15 ft's a game. Yeah, but right now, Durant has the body of a 12 yr old boy. Durant "physically" isn't ready to play heavy minutes in the NBA, right now. And to be honest, I am more then satisifed having a Deng/Thomas/Noce (<----if he re-signs) at the forwards spot. And as much as I love Durant's game, I much rather have Greg Oden. Give Oden two yrs behind Wallace, and Oden jumps Amare/Bosh/Howard as the best young big man in the NBA. With that said, I wouldn't be disappointed in getting Durant. With that said....considering the Knicks season has gone, the Bulls will most likely land the pick in the 7-12 range. Considering this draft, that not's a BAD thing considering who COULD be available. Guys like Hibbert/Noah/Hawes will be available. Interesting to note: http://nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/joakimnoah.html First: the compare Noah to Chandler but with a "higher basketball IQ." Second: This statement remind you of a certain GM philosophy?
  17. It's cool that Aaron basically dissed Bonds. Now imagine if Selig says he won't attend any games that Bonds plays in that is nearing 755?
  18. He was coming off a couple of great yrs in Houston, and was considered an "ace" in the mold of a Tom Glavine. At the time, if I remember he was considered one of the elite pitchers, especially from the left side, with Glavine and Johnson. To me...at the time Hampton was worth the contract, considering he could pitch, hit, was athlethic enough to field his position. IMO, he combine the best of Zambrano (hitting wise) with the best of Glavine. I felt the contract for his talent, was appropiate, he just signed with the wrong team. In the end, Hamton's "bust" in Colorado, was the final straw. No SUPERSTAR caliber pitcher will ever seriously, I repeat seriously, consider Colorado. Which means if Coloradon wants quality pitching, they have to developed it.
  19. Oh lord...That pitch by Howry...two pitches before the HR.... I said a string of words so bad I'm pretty sure I secured my place in hell. You secured your place in hell the minute you became a Packer's fan. =D>
  20. I TiVo the Cubs highlights on BBTN, and I hate to disagree with you oldstyle, but that pitch would have punch Adam Everett out 9 out of 10 times. Pepole WHO KNOWS the strikezone knows Everett struckout (according to the strikezone) but unfortunately the Cubs drew an umpire who is clueless when it comes to the strikezone. Bad loss today, so I figure the Cubs will rope Sampson tomorrow. are you saying it was a ball or a strike? i have been saying it was a strike Personally, I'm saying it's a strike.
