  1. lou's gonna have a great postgame tonight
  2. I would have given anything to be there. I immediately got goose bumps (amidst running wild up and down the stairs). Does anyone know if any posters were there? It was incredible. I'm pretty sure that's the loudest I've ever heard that stadium get. Ever. Must've been amazing. Couldn't have been as loud as Kerry Wood's game tying homer in Game 7 of 2003, though, right? Not a chance. It was louder on the streets for game 7 than it was today.
  3. I'm not against this signing, but why not Lofton?
  4. I have no problem getting Pie back down in the minors for awhile to work on his swing and get some at-bats. He wasn't playing up here anyway, Edmonds either performs or the Cubs cut bait. His defense should be better playing at wrigley instead of Petco. Edmonds has always got on base at good clip throughout his career and hit for power. If not it buys Pie some time in Iowa and buys Hendry some time to continue to tinker with this team. It's a very low risk and I have a feeling Emonds still has something left in the tank and will show that.
  5. Pull Z , let's get Fox , Wuertz, Erye some work.
  6. I wouldn't mind if the Cubs signed Edmonds if he would accept a minor league invite to see if he still has any thing left in the tank.
  7. Edmonds loves to hit at wrigley and might relish the chance to stick it to La Russa. That being said I would rather have Pie playing center anyday of the week or if we where going scrap heap shopping I would prefer Lofton.
  8. I'm still high on Donaldson he's just off to a slow start and think over time he can still produce it took Soto awhile before he realized his potential. When do they move up Papelbohn? He's been throwing the ball well and my have a future in the Cubs bullpen down the line.
  9. Griffey looked amazing last year at times but is off to a slow start, if the price was low I would gamble on Griffey staying healthy and starting over in Chicago with Lou . That being said he wouldn't be bad
  10. Only If Wood can stay healthy for a whole year should there be any thoughts of him returning to the rotation. Hopefully Woody Can start getting him self ready in Nov after the Cubs win it and then make the switch back to starting the key will be him in camp next spring healthy again.
  11. good news for the Cubs, if they lose Sheets again the Brew Crew will have trouble staying in the hunt all summer.
  12. If Hendry decides to the pull the trigger on a deal that sends Pie packing , Wilkerson along with Lofton would make nice platoon partners off with Johnson for center field.
  13. Pie + Theriot in Exchange for Greene and a prospect . Sign Lofton to platoon with Johnson in center. This move improves the team and let's Hendry keep a couple bullets for the deadline.
  14. In this weeks power rankings Phil Rogers mentions the Cubs are still after a lefty handed bat , and that Jocketty might not wait long to deal Griffey or Dunn to free up a a spot for Bruce.
  15. Marmols workload is a concern.
  16. I'm trying hunt down some footage from this game my friend might a nice stab on a foul ball off the bat of Soto in the the third inning. Can anyone help? Thanks
  17. possible July 31 targets Burnett Lincencum Cain Micheal Young Milton Bradley Maddux / if the Padres are out of it.
  18. I think the price will be a lot cheaper for the older version of Harden who's a free agent at season's end if he's healthy. (Burnett)
  19. Vance love the idea of takng back Hernandez back form Baltimore and then flipping him for Freel. Much better than having to take back Payton. Freel is a guy that along with Derosa gives Piniella plenty of options off the bench.
  20. well that could be trouble. If anyone finds it let everyone know please. Thanks
  21. Does anyone see where the link for the virtual waiting room is at?
  22. Ceda remind me a lot of Francis Beltran, Roberto Nova, but then again the guy could turn into Bobby Jenks.
