  1. The angle I saw (3b), it looked like Lee was in that in-between where he was out of reach but too close to dive.
  2. Z is basically untradeable unless we swallow about 90% of his salary or take on some Pat Burrell type contract. I don't see this getting resolved. Someone will come out and say everything is all hunky dory (sp?). I really hate that we paid Z all that money but hind sight is 20/20.
  3. Eh... Brett Eibner CF KC
  4. Well, if you would set your email notifications, we do have a system. It's the easiest way to do it. No biggie really... I do get the emails, in fact i got one that said I had like 2hrs to pick at around 8-10 am mountain time, guess what I was asleep for next 6-8hrs. I never got one that said, "Hey focker, you're up in the draft!".
  5. STFU BTW, I didn't think it was all that great of a coach/ump argument. That being said, if you guys can find his post game speach... IT'S GREAT!
  6. Try to LOL, we should really have a notification system. I can get on here at work, but basically, I'm busy at work, busy at home, and then I'm sleeping. Don't always have time to check every day.
  7. Yeah, I sleep during the day... didn't realize I was up, but regardless I'd think you could make your pick anytime after your cut-off.
  8. Err... Zack Cox UofA
  9. One of the best best of three series I've seen... that being said, the Hogs really helped hand AZ State the series. If they play solid D, we're at worst looking at a winner take all game tomorrow. Great season and a bad draw for the Hogs to have the #1 seed in the Super Regional. Going to miss Eibner and Cox (time to start hating his guts I suppose).
  10. Anyone else watch the AZ ST/AR game? Great game but the Hogs got fucked on so many calls it was crazy. If you get a chance to watch a replay, take a peak... worst home plate ump I've ever seen, by a long shot.
  11. IMO the worst part about this pick is that it helped allow Zack Cox to slide all the way to the Cards at 25... I don't see that being good for the Cubs.
  12. Yeah, check out Lyle Alzado, claimed roids ruined him.
  13. Pretty damning, but without an admission or + test it probably doesn't mean much... http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5508863
  14. You're right. According to this board 99% of the problems with the Cubs this year is Lou and Hendry. That would be true, if you ignored all of the points about Lee and Aramis starting off the season horrendously and the issues with the talent level in the bullpen. But the bulk of the blame should lie with Hendry. That said, it's silly to act like Lou is getting unfair blame here. Managers can negatively impact a team far more than they can positively, and Lou is basically a textbook example of that. I'm sure it was Stan Fat Gundy's fault that Reddick didn't call a time out last night right?.
  15. Nuts on your gums, you're the biggest "know-it-all" I've seen on the board, so I take anything you say with a grain of salt.
  16. Marshall leads the team in appearances and might not need to be pitched every other game. When he blows out after pitching 80 games, you'll be the same guys crying that he was used too much early in the season.
  17. So I'm assuming that Lou had no idea how to handle the bullpen when he won the WS with the nasty boys. What about all those very good to great seasons with the Mariners. IMO you don't just become a crappy manager. What I see is a team that doesn't execute worth a flip. The fact that it's blamed on the manager is irrelevant. I'm guessing that you think that Doc Rivers is a stud coach now? Just because he won a championship with the best team in basketball. He was a bum coach before the big three got there. As a coach/manager you're typically only as good as your players execution. Tony LaRussa as much as it pains me to say, must do something right, but other than that, every other manager has failed somewhere in his career. Doesn't always make them a bad manager.
  18. No way he gets fired, not sure he's even been fired since maybe his Yankee days. As far as everyone screaming that he needs to be fired... is it his fault that his guys don't execute? This isn't basketball where you teach the game, how to shoot, all that bs. It's baseball, you tell a guy to bunt, it's his job to do it. Not sure how so many of you are "baseball experts". Do any of you even coach?
  19. Sammy's skins as miraculously returned to normal... http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/jack-white-sosas-skin-returns-to-original-color-28347
  20. I would be extremely happy if the NBA put an NFL style age limit in place. I like college basketball much more than NBA basketball and would have loved to see Lebron in college. Not so sure the Hogs would have completely fallen off the map if Al Jefferson had been forced to go to college for 3 years.
  21. what's the payout for this league?
  22. Ops tempo at Scott lol
  23. Not sure where Zack Cox will end up in the draft, but I'd love to see the Cubs get him. I think he'd be a pretty fast burner and could solve the second base hole that we've had for some time. The dude can flat out rake.
