I believe this is all the proof we need for why more games should be on WGN. This is a welcome change from last year, when they were right around .500 on WGN. Even better is that the Cubs are 8-2 this season with me watching. I will be watching tonight.
What is the rule for a game that is suspended such as the Nationals/Astros game on the 5th to be completed 7/9? Elijah Dukes is on first, but what happens if Dukes goes on the DL or more likely both teams rosters are different than they are now?
Does Renteria get hit tonight for that elbow to Fontenot a couple years ago? If I remember correctly this is his first game against the Cubs since then.
Pat and Ron saying it didn't look like an arm injury, they are pretty sure it was a leg injury of some kind. I'm not watching it on TV though, so I don't know what they're saying.
I've been wondering what this is on Aramis' glove, it looks like padding of some kind, but I'm wondering if it's something I'd be able to buy for my glove as it's padding has been wearing thin lately. What I'm talking about is right under his index finger. http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/00no4HecypeuV/610x.jpg
Len, Thanks for taking the time to answer questions for us. I have two questions; How much time do you and Bob spend together off the air? It seems like you guys really enjoy each other and I can't imagine that it ends after work. Also, what would be the best way for somebody to get a shout out on the air? I always hear one or two a game, but I imagine there are way more that get submitted. Is it just luck? Thanks again for taking the time to answer questions Len.
Lineup according to the Sun-Times twitter: Lineup if they play: sori, theriot, fuku (rf), lee, font, johnson (cf), miles (2b), hill, lilly Ramirez out with a sore back, Bradley feels better.
There are four guys competing for two spots in the Cubs bullpen (Samardzija, Guzman, Gaudin, and Patton). Who are the two you want to see make the opening day roster? Keep in mind Guzman and Gaudin are out of options and Patton was a rule 5 pick so he would be returned unless a trade can get worked out.
http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/1501479,kevin-gregg-cubs-closer-032909.article I would've been happy with either choice honestly, I just hope if Gregg starts to fall apart Piniella isn't afraid to switch roles.
Clicking through the players did anybody else notice that Cotts changed his number from 48 to 84? Does anybody have any idea why? I didn't see anybody who took his number.
According to the press pass Esmalin Caridad, Cotts, Gregg, David Patton (Rule 5 pick I believe), Ken Kadokura, and Jason Waddell will be pitching today after Heilman.
doesnt look like it. wednesday and thursday against the WS is though. Those are also the Las Vegas games for the year so the one on Wednesday is at 9:05 CT
Isnt he playing for Japan in the WBC? Yeah, he isn't supposed to be back with the Cubs until late spring training, unless the Cubs play Japan in their exhibition game against the WBC team.
Actually I heard an interesting story that CC almost quit baseball when he was younger because his dad assumed he was right handed. I can't remember where I heard it, but I'm pretty sure I'm not making it up.
What drives me nuts about it more than anything else is how baseball is treated differently from football and basketball. This will ruin A-Rod's reputation. This will only add more ammunition to the people who argue that everyone in baseball is on steroids and is a cheater. It will hurt baseball. However, nobody talks about basketball and football in the same way. Cripes, Shawne Merriman testing positive got very little attention. When the Williams DTs tested positive for a banned substance, everyone automatically believed them when they said it was for a weight loss drug. No one seems to notice when guys in both sports look like they belong in professional wrestling. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL and NBA were just as tainted by the PEDs scandal. Yet, nobody says a freaking thing about it. However, this will lead to another Congressional hearing with another player's career destroyed. It'll be sickening and a waste of money. I just dont get this thought process. I definitely agree that the NFL gets a pass. Is it fair? No, but it doesnt have to be. Who cares if it hurts baseball? Baseball hurt itself by ignoring the problem and then trying to act like the problem was never really that big of a problem. Who cares if it destroys a players career? Anyone who cheats should have their career destroyed. What drove me nuts about Merriman was that when he won defensive player of the year everybody thought it was great because he missed four games.
