    That's a delightful knee-jerk reaction. Not really. The Cubs don't match up on Hamels and Price isn't on the market. They have said they aren't interested in rentals i.e Samardzija,Kennedy etc. Various reports say they're not in on Shields. The only person they're even being tied to is Tyson Ross. I've seen them mentioned in connection with plenty of players. Theo has generally been a pretty active guy at the deadline whether he's buying or selling. If you think it's more likely he doesn't make any moves with 3 days to go, you're overreacting.

    Looked a lot more like gang warfare to me. Yes, it's a sports discussion forum and people are going to lose their [expletive] when the game turns wrong (and subsequently not get it together again when things turn out allright because the vibe has turned). But when it looks like there's going to be more pages bitching at each other than actual game thread talk during the game, it's time to step in. Or maybe because this board is like a room full of manic depressive, menopausal, divorcees who can only allow themselves a few fleeting moments of happiness before they begin obsessing over something stupid. like the umpteenth 22 year old who had a hot week in the AZL?

    What raw said. I think they might actually make sense as a taker for Vogelbach. They have had an offensive black hole at first base for years now and he's a guy they could probably plug in there next year.

    I'm a huge Ross fan and I'm on board with most of this. I think that package is really underestimating the cost, however. I'd lovelovelove to see what he'd do here with Bosio and I am also not going to worry that hard about the curve % and injury probability.
